    Today I failed :(

I did my first 4 runs and wanted to stop but I managed my 5th run then I was going to try my 6th (although there's no way I'd have finished it) but at that exact moment a group of about 10 runners were beside me and I turned my ipod off. No way I was struggling along the path with them!

It's boiling outside (is summer here?) and I failed :(
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.

Drea, don't worry about it. I'm sure i'd feel intimidated by a group of 'pro' runners as well. Just do your 6th run again the time you would have done the next one.

Not finishing one run doesn't make you a failure - stick with it, you can do it.
    Now proud Mumto3 :j

Drea the only people in life who never fail are those who never try. You might not have suceeded this time but you WILL next time. Just remember keep it slow and ignore everyone else. Besides you managed five runs...could you have done that a few weeks ago?:)
Well done mumtotwo, maisy_daisy and petitepeche

I am doing my 2nd run tomorrow. Should really have been today, but I want to change the days I run so my 2nd one will be tomorrow now, then will do Tuesday, Friday and Sunday after then.

Hi Chipps, it's amazing how losing weight gives you so much confidence - I've lost 4 1/2 stone and feel so much fitter, and like you wouldn't have even contemplated running!

I've just done week 1 run 2 - was a little hard going but I'll stick at it! Made the mistake of reading what's coming up over the next few weeks...still can't imagine running for 20 minutes

I don't even want to THINK about running for 20 minutes:) In fact, my legs are telling me today they don't want to think about yesterday either! I'm hoping by Monday they'll have forgotten and I can sneak in another little jaunt before they notice!

Hi all, sorry I have been hiding out from you but just got caught up on the thread. Been feeling incredibly guilty, it has been a bit of a dodgy fortnight and am dreading stepping on the scales. I partly feel guilty too because I haven't run in a couple of weeks as well, but I've had a very sore throat morphing into a bad cough, which now seems to be settling down. I am forcing myself to begin week 7 which is the 25 minuter again. I am posting now so that in the morning, when the sun will hopefully be shining again :) I will feel I owe it to you all to get out there and do it.

No time now to respond to everyone but hi to the new guys and keep going to the 'oldies' :) I'm 39 by the way, with the big 40 looming soon and I really want to be up to 5k before it (and down below 11 stone but that's a whole other story!!)

If I don't report back tomorrow, come find me and kick me in the bum. I'll deserve it.

Oh well, I guess you're in it for the long haul unless you want to feel immensely guilty ;)

Drea - don't feel too bad, pick yourself and try again in a couple of days :)

Wk 2 run 1 tomorrow. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried. 90 seconds running = Will report back tomorrow night and let you know how I got on!
