I have just done week 5 run 3 a twenty minute run:j:j:j. I managed to run non stop, though the term "run" may be a misnomer. I was determined to go the whole way without stopping so I started really really slow and only sped up when he said there was just three minutes to go.The only person I overtook was a very old lady carrying her shoppingI must admit I did want to stop but the thought of being able to post on here that I had done it, was a huge encouragement.
I checked out next week and I notice it goes back to two or three shorter runs again. Not sure why this is...do you have to speed up?
Keep going everyone.:D
Well done
I noticed that it seems to go backwards with week 4, but then I guess it's trying to slowly get your distance up?
My work trousers seem baggy the past couple of days, keep having to pull them upsurely it can't be because of this already?
Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
teachergirl that made me giggle:D...well done!
I am very frustrated today because I just havent had time to do my run and the area is a bit dodgy on an evening to be running alone. So I might just have to start week 2 again and try from monday . I want the weekend off (even though I am feeling very guilty!:() the kids are running me ragged this week and I just havent got the energy to do it. I have been walking a lot so havent been completely useless, never the less I am looking forward to the end of easter so I can get back to my routine!;)
Keep it up everyone :Tit appears you are all doing better than me at the mo!:oJAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

 week 5 is 20 minutes nonstop?!!! I can't ever imagine myself doing that. Seriously well done to you
I've just done week 1 run 3. I know this is going to sound crazy, but already I feel like it's getting a little easier... On wk1 run1 felt sick when I'd finished, and like my head was going to explode. This time I was tired but nowhere near as out of breath.
Anyway, wk2 run1 on Sunday - can't wait:o

Hi, can I join in please? This morning I did the first run - actually probably my first ever! Well, certainly for a long time! I have lost nearly 3 stone since joining weightwatchers in October last year, & wouldn't have dared - or been able to - even attempt such a thing. I know it was more walk than run, & was a little pink when I got in but even so it was quite an acheivement. I don't have an ipod at the moment, so set up the times on my phone interval timer, which seems ok, although probably having music & talking would be better. Still, have spent quite enough so far buying shoes and a sports bra!!! Probably won't be able to do the second one til Monday.0

Welcome aboard, Chipps! Well done on your weight loss, that's amazing.
Why don't you get a really cheap MP3 player, that's what I'm using now as was fed up of technical hitches with hubbys Ipod! Works like a dream.
Stick with it & let us know how you get on.
Just setting off on Wk 3, Run 1 - haven't looked what it entails, so will be a surprise ;-)Now proud Mumto3 :j0 -
Morning everyone. For some reason my antivirus software keeps turning off my instant notification setting. I thought nobody was around. It was a lovely surprise to log on this morning and find everyones comments. Thank you all so much for your encouragement:A
For everyone finding their first runs difficult and wondering if they will ever make twenty minutes(or longer) Read my first posts on the old couch to 5k running thread, I thought I was going to die after my first runs.:D
Hi there Chipps I think you will find us a friendly bunch. I wish I could lose a few pounds, I am still putting weight on even though I have increased the amount of exercise I do from nothing to loads.
Looking forward to hearing how you got on mumto2. Congratulations on doing your first week completelylost.
bertiebots ,sorry but I want the school holidays to go on for ever.(the clues in the name;))
Keep running everybody.Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0 -

Hi Chipps, it's amazing how losing weight gives you so much confidence - I've lost 4 1/2 stone and feel so much fitter, and like you wouldn't have even contemplated running!
I've just done week 1 run 2 - was a little hard going but I'll stick at it! Made the mistake of reading what's coming up over the next few weeks...still can't imagine running for 20 minutes :eek:0
