Well done paddypaws101. it is lovely when the sun is shining. I am up to week 5 and for the first time the runs are different on different days. day 1 has three five minute runs and day2 has two eight minute runs and day 3 has one twenty minute run:eek:. See my earlier post for how I feel about this.If you look at the coolrunning.com website you can see it written down what you have to do . Though I prefer not to knowEnough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0

Morning everyone:wave:
Week 2 , run#1 complete:D. The extra days rest has done the trick and I managed to get all 3 kids to go with me on their bikes. I got left behind after eldest ds got bored doing a running commentary as he rode along side of me:rotfl:.
Well at least we didnt get followed by an over friendly dog this time. Saturday we had a woman running after her dog , running after me and ds2 lol! Well I wasnt going to stop:rotfl::whistle:JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200

Well done, Bertiebots.
I've just got back from Wk2, Run 2. Slight technical hitch and lost the podcast after the 1st run, so improvised. Actually think I ran further - very red in face for first time. Did feel like I was running better, so am chuffed.
Well done everyone!Now proud Mumto3 :j0 -
Well done to all who have ran today
I was meant to go tonight for wk1 run2 but ended up doing something else :S But I will go tomorrow for sure!
paddypaws - how about something like these? Maybe not that brand, but that style. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9239937/Trail/searchtext%3EEARPHONES.htm
goppers - I agree with the others, don't give up, run outdoors. I'm huge (fat) and have anxiety issues, but I have started to force myself to go. Can you not choose a time of day when it'll be quieter and go then? I avoid going to the park that I run around when I know the local football team will be playing... there's no way I'd run with them all thereTo be honest I don't think most people take any notice of us.

Thanks completelylost.....I am off to Argos this am to give those headphones a go....at that price it must be worth a try.
I am actually less stiff today after run 2 than the first one so am well chuffed.
I have to say that having the podcast on is invaluable to me and really helps me feel not quite such a donut out there!
To all of you who feel self conscious running in public and daylight...DON'T. Anyone looking at you will probably feel inspired that someone else is getting off their back side and Doing something about excess weight. Being outside rather than cooped up in a gym or your back room has all kinds of additional benefits.0 -

£8 running shoes. I know they might not be much good but figured at £8 they might be worth a try if you haven't already got running shoes? I think it's today only.Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
I really think people should be very careful about running in poor quality shoes as it is very easy to pick up injuries if the shoe does not fit or give adequate support. Might be money saving in the short term but very expensive in terms of treatments in the long term!0

I know some people are using their normal trainers rather than running shoes so I just thought they might be helpful (and better).Just because you made a mistake doesn't mean you are a mistake.0 -
Ok guys not been on for a while but really nothing positive to post! I've been really lazy and not done ANYTHING since my week 6 run 2. Plus with easter getting in the way and a big family wedding (that lasted 4 days) i've not really had chance... i know, i'm not trying to make excuses.
My gym membership has run out now so if I carry on with the running, i have the next hurdle of having the guts to run outside in front of people.... I dont really want to renew my membership as its not very mse and i CAN get my exercise without gym membership too..
I dunno, it's all gone to pot! I didn't think i'd be one of those that quits after reading that after week 5-6 a lot of people quit...
But on the other hand, well done guys for keeping up the good work...!
Hi...dont normally hang around on here but noticed this the other day and its been bugging me ever since...I'm not a huge fan of C25K as a programme (partly because people often dont make it to the end and quit but anyway)...but felt I wanted to comment on this as its really important.
If you are worried about other runners - dont be...most of the time other people wont even give you a second thought because they are too busy thinking about their own running anyway.
If I do notice someone else, and they are struggling, I usually think - I remember that stage of it all being really hard, thank goodness it got better (and it does). Even now I'll have the odd run like that where nothing seems to work at all. These get less and less as time goes on - even if you dont stick with the programme at least get out and have a bash at it outside - honestly its amazing (shh but in the summer rain is the best:shhh:).0 -
