Thank you all for the welcome.
Well, the good news is that I have started!!
Figured out the ipod and podcast thing, strapped on the expensive running shoes I bought this time last year and never wore yet, stressed about carrying keys, how big my bum looked etc...then finally set off!
Apart from the running itself ( !! ) I have encountered a few issues...
1) Need someway to attach key to clothes
2) Need sports bra!
3) Need larger ears as I cannot keep the ipod earpieces in mine!0 -

1) Try putting it on a ribbon/string around your kneck.
2) Try e-bay! (thats where I got mine;))
3) What about the headphones that go over your head? some
thing like these?

Week 2, Run 1 done here too. Wasn't too bad, the last run was a bit tough but got through it. Definitely feel better for it rather than doing Week 1 again.
Well done paddypawsyou could always buy a running headband which would help keep your earphones in but might be a bit hot in summer

:easter: Good afternoon everyone. Happy Easter.
I managed week 5 run 1 this morning and it felt really good. I bought my new running shoes at Decathlon yesterday and they were not even that expensive. Just £40. I did try the £100 pair on but they were not as good for me Very MSE so thanks for the tip Sammy_girl. Whilst I was there I bought this little wristband purse which will be perfect for me to put my key in.(only about £3)
Because we have been discussing how fast you should run I thought I would measure it today. My brisk walk is between 3.6-4.0 miles an hour and my run is 3.8-5.0 miles an hour.(depending on if I'm on the uphill bit or the downhill):D.
Well done to all the newbies who have run and well done Drea...
ginsvt...where are you???Are you still running and belfastgirl23 where are you?? It seems like everyone gets to about week 6 and then disappears:eek:Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0 -
Evening folks,
In about an hour I'm going for my wk1 run 1... can't say I'm looking forward to it, but I know it needs to be done. I'm hoping that in time I'll enjoy it. Need to find a watch with seconds, so that I can time how long I'm running for.
Anyway, if I don't report back by 8pm, it means I've collapsed in a ditch somewhere:rotfl:

Hi completelylost....we both did our first run today!!
Maybe I have slightly lost the health benefits by eating the last of the hot cross buns though....0 -
Hi paddypaws...
Oooh that's good, someone at the same point as meHow did you find it?
I managed it ok, though the last 60 seconds of running were tortureBut I did it! And I didn't die! :jBut it's amazing how slowly those few seconds seem to go when you're puffing & panting.

Well done everyone!:j:j:j
I am due to do week 2 run#1 tomorrow but I have decided to wait till tuesday:o. I think I pulled something in my right hip, probably caused by the blister on my heel ,and not being balanced whilst I was running -iyswim!
So an extra days rest should do the trick and hopefully my blister will heal a bit:T. Looks like I will be running at the weekend after all....JAN GC- £155.77 out of £200FEB GC £197.31 out of £180:o. MARCH GC - out of £200
