morning everyone. Bit stiff today if I can find the time I might do some stretchs today as I do not have to run until tomorrow.
Well done everyone on their first runs.:j
Goppers where are you? Still think everyone who gets to week 6 disappears:eek:
bertiebots you can get special blister plasters. They are a bit more expensive than ordinary plasters but they work brilliantly. You have to warm them before you put them on,they have a kind of jelly top which goes over the blister and it stays there until it heals.
    Keep going everyone.

Hello all! Sorry - don't have time to read all your posts now, but jsut to say - well done all!

I am away with work in Caribbean (not as glamorous as it sounds) and it is incredibly hot. Got to the gym in hotel this morning and it was so hot in there! I managed about 7-8 minutes of running and that was it. I was pouring with sweat, my legs and feet are still swollen after the flight (got here yesterday late afternoon). Just as I decided it was enough for me, colleague found a remote for air-conditioning unit in the gym. So, it should be much better next time. It was so hot, the mirrors were all steamed up!!!!!

Anyway, we are for a walk to Botanical Gardens (which are about 3km away), so it will be a workout in itself walking in this heat (it is way above 30 C, I think it is forecast is to be 35C !!!)

Me too! We went for a walk and sweat was just pouring down the face and back, I never had it like that, not even whilst running! I got back to the hotel completely dehydrated and my hands were swollen so much, I couldn't make a fist! It is fine now - I am just left with a headache.

And it is cloudy here today, (well, sun came out while we were walking for a bit, I hope I haven't burnt - I did have sun cream on) I am afraid to think how would it be if the sky was clear!

Ok guys not been on for a while but really nothing positive to post! I've been really lazy and not done ANYTHING since my week 6 run 2. Plus with easter getting in the way and a big family wedding (that lasted 4 days) i've not really had chance... i know, i'm not trying to make excuses.

My gym membership has run out now so if I carry on with the running, i have the next hurdle of having the guts to run outside in front of people... :(. I dont really want to renew my membership as its not very mse and i CAN get my exercise without gym membership too..

I dunno, it's all gone to pot! I didn't think i'd be one of those that quits after reading that after week 5-6 a lot of people quit...

But on the other hand, well done guys for keeping up the good work...!

No No NO goppers you cannot quit.:( You can do it. I haven't got a gym membership . I'm fat ,very wobbly and I still run outside. I just go early in the morning so there is noone about. The weather is getting better ,so running outside is a realistic option. O.K. so you have not trained for awhile but hey ho you must be better than when you started. If you give up now you will be back to square one.:grouphug:(dodgy hug)
I have just done week 5 run 2. it was tough. I reversed my run so the steep incline was on my final run and was a steep decline:D. Even so I found it a bit tough. I'm not sure how I am supposed to do a 20 minute run on Friday. There seems to be a huge jump here. I might repeat today. I will see how it goes.
ginsvt hope you get going in the gym. I am going to Borneo in the summer , my trip of a life time which is my motivation for getting fit. The humidity out there is also very high so I guess I won't be doing any running there. I want to loose some weight and I am very disappointed to say that I still have not lost a single pound:eek: I might have to go and have a chat with the Gp just in case there is a thyroid type problem. I cannot believe that I have increased my exercise levels so much and nothing has happened.
Well done to bertiebots, mumtotwo, completelylost, drea and busiscoming2 and everyone else. Keep up the good work

Ha! Just did wk1 run 2. I was pretty stiff after the first run and could still feel that today but it actually felt great to be out in the sunshine. The pod caste makes it all so much easier.
How does it progress? Are all the runs in each week actually the same?
Most of my practical issues are sorted but I definitely have strange ears cos NOTHING can keep the ear phone in the right one when I run and my poor ear really hurts afterwards from trying! I may try and get to an Aldi to see if I can get those sports earphones, or maybe Argos would have some options??
