Thanks everyone for the encouragement! :D
I am due to do week 1, run #2 tomorrow but am a bit worried because my hips are very stiff!
I thought it would be my legs that would cause me trouble but they are fine!. I have been walking round town this morning and they are ok when I am moving... but when I stop and have to get going again they are quite painful.:(
I am not sure if its a good idea to run or not but dont want to miss a day.... so I might be doing a brisk walk instead . Its quite frustrating!
I am going to try a soak in the bath tonight and see if that helps.

I was stiff like that after my Week 1 Run 1. It hurt even just to walk down the stairs! But I still did my second run on time, and I can honestly say I wasn't in pain. My soreness probably lasted a few days in total. Still go and see how you feel. If it feels better to walk, then walk. GL :)

Idiophreak - What week are you on? I bet you're advanced!

Hmm, yeah, I really didn't ought to be on this thread...I'm doing half marathons at the mo - I'm just nosy and enjoy seeing young runners get into it...I keep an eye on the thread in case there's any help I can offer - would hate to see people get hurt through not starting out sensibly...

    Back from R2, Wk1 - it's cold out there!
Went well, hopefully hamstring will be ok tomorrow. Have taken care doing lots of stretches.
Have got gel soles in my shoes (Superdrug £3.99 ;)).

    Well done everyone!

Finally the weather is better so I'll be out tonight :)

Well done, Bertibots. I'm feeling really good today - no aches or hamstring problems, so it must get easier as we get further into it!!

Not sure I'll be taking mine running with me during the school holidays (they are 7,6 and 2), so not sure I'll manage a pram and 2 wild children round the streets and running as well :rotfl:

OH is being very accommodating though.

Hi all :hello:, well I haven't done anything for nearly a week been busy eating lots of birthday cake!, so I did my W2 R3 again last night at the gym. Was really annoyed as I had to cut short the last run as a nice young gym instructor was stood right behind me, I didn't feel comfortable running with my rear end jigging about:eek:. I was also trying out my new trainers which I got off the JJB website. (many thanks to the OP)

Not looking forward to the next level but will do my best. Got to burn off all those easter eggs I've bought!!!!!!:EasterBun

    Have a good weekend everyone!

Happy Easter weekend everyone - hope the Easter bunny pays a visit to you!

Looking good for running/biking time this weekend.

Am heading off in a few mins for run 3, wk1. Next one hopefully on Sun am.

When I got back from last one, did half an hour on exercise bike (gently) to help muscles. Joked to hubby that all i needed to do was lie in the bath and it would be a tri-athalon.

    Bye!
