I am the one telling my broker the state of affairs with A&L, he is obviously unaware of MSE.

He has not offered to give me the account numbers etc so I can chase and I am more than happy to chase every day until they get the message that until they clear their backlog they are creating more work for themselves. It would be good to get some inside information as to the state of affairs in these places.

I agree that lenders are poor at time but sometimes brokers promise to much. They know how lenders are and at times dont do enough to prevent longer delays.

Don't put the responsibilty on to Brokers for poor quality staff & service in processing centres.....

It wouldn't make an ounce of difference if you foned 24/7....you would only punch the walls with frustration......

Dont put all delays down to lenders. Yes lenders do delays things but brokers at times are equally as bad and cause delays themselves.

You seem to moan about lenders but often some brokers dont provide the correct information to start with and therefore delay matters themselves.

And whats the point phoning 24/7. Phoning this often increases backlogs. If turnaround times are X you should wait until X days have gone pass before chasing.

I haven't chased, broker has done it all. 6 weeks to get a valuation initiated so I think he had a right to chase. 2 days after valuation he chased for them to say two weeks.

I could be applying else where if the valuation does not give me what I need but they are just causing huge delays. They are the ones not managing expectations at all. I have a certain amount of patience but I think we are entitled to proper customer service even if it's a 'no'.

Phoning 24/7 would work, asking to speak to someone up the chain would get an answer but I am just stupidly waiting.

In your circumstance then you are right they are not managing things right. Your broker should be finding out exactly what is happening. What does he suggest you do? How long is he and you prepare to wait for them?

I try and steer clients towards the better service poviders. Surely better to accept a deal that might be £30 pm more in the knowlegde the lender will be efficient and deliver that vital mortgage offer?

Some clients insist on lowest rate but I make it abundantly clear of the potential service downside and warn them they may lose the house if the seller / agent becomes impatient.
