just got an email off the broker! abbey have everything they need but they cant read the copy of my partners payslip so can we send originals! oh well back to another 7 - 10 days of being at the bottom of the Q!
Exactly the same happened to me, unfortunately we don't have control over brokers.
Suggest A&L and Abbey get new fax machines.0 -

Biggest hassle with this is my money is sat in Nationwide eSavings based accounts at present, but when you print a statement there is nothing to actually show who owns the account. Phoned them and they said I have to go into a branch and get them to print out a report on headed paper.
I'll try and get this off to them tomorrow, but then rejoin the queue, assume 7-10 days before it is looked at again.
One bit of positive news was the guys I am buying from had their Abbey mortgage offer yesterday, that was 14 working days to process from application, and they also had one delay in the middle as the wife in on maternity leave at present.
I would recommend you send a whole load of statements showing how this deposit was built up if it wasn't a gift from family or something, just to cover your back as I would be surprised if they don't ask for it.Happily an ex mortgage broker!0 -

I've been in to Nationwide today and they printed out 12 month statements for my 3 main accounts. They stamped and signed them which hopefully helps authenticity.
Spoke to broker again when handing over the documents, he seems to think they might have another look at them tomorrow. Will be very surprised if that happens! I'm personally expecting end of next week, but we shall see!not sure if you've said, have they done your valuation yet?
Don't think it has reached that stage yet, assuming once they have everything required then they will get that booked in.0 -

I wasn't referring to email I was talking about posting original documents and having proof of purchase.....that way they can't sat the faxed docs have gome missing or the docs are poor quality they cannot read....it will only cost the adviser 5quid....but a better quality of service for the client............0 -
all info required was posted to them today, so should be with them tuesday, abbey have said once info is there it will take them 24 - 48hrs, then they will instruct for the valuation0

Amazingly, the adviser had a call by 10am today with the follow up. Apparently statements printed in branch at Nationwide, stamped with the branch stamp and signed by the staff member were not enough to prove my deposit...
After a lot of discussion between adviser and Abbey they said to try online banking. Now this next bit is quite ridiculous in my mind. They have now accepted a print screen of the main accounts overview page from Nationwide online banking. This page has not got my name on it, and has no account numbers either but somehow is better proof than physical statements from a branch. I am a web developer and could have knocked up a full on fake of this site in minutes, yet it is somehow good enough for them.
Was told I might hear back today, but obviously that will now be Tuesday, hopefully they can get through it quickly as everyone else in my chain is now ready to exchange contracts.0 -
Can't believe how many of us seem to be in the same boat - almost 4 weeks on, we are still not passed the underwriters. The documents keep floating to and fro. The latest today was that one of the docs was illegible (of course they couldn't have told me that 3 weeks ago when they received the doc). I e-mailed them a copy this time, asking the acknowledge receipt, which of course they didn't. We're getting so frustrated, even thinking of jacking this whole process in and trying with another lender. Really don't want to lose this house!! Could literally scream....ARGH!0
