The doc she deals with diet type diabetes so as much as help as a chocolate kettle:rotfl: no to be fair when she realised the severity of it all rather than ushering me out with can't help you ringing in my ears she did try to make some calls and panic a bit incase it came back on her that I had personally asked for help and was not getting any, the short version is I have had 2 more hypos today and will be contacted 9am tomorrow (in the meantime keep it high and wait) by the diabetic team, strangely ridiculously it was mentioned if I vomit or have shortness of breath to be admitted to a &e straight away and I thought to myself I SO want that so that they take it seriously and finally get me some help, she asked about weight loss, I should be so lucky on the sugar I have had:rotfl:not wishing myself iller but to get some help tomorrow would be nice:D

I think I would be tempted to make myself sick - bl**dy discrace

Mazza - I always get the 1st page Mazza and have to leap to the last and then scroll back- are you telling me that not everyone does?

    There is another way! ;)

Click on the title of the thread so it takes you to the first post - at the top left hand side of post #1 is the word 'views' with a little arrow next to it - click on the arrow, and it will take you to the 'first unread' post - in other words to where you left off.

Not a lot of people know that... :D

Didn't get round to the number crunching re calorie intake vs required this weekend (did get round to a fair bit of chocolate crunching though, my own fault for having it in the house). But I am going to try having breakfast, lunch, dinner and three snacks through the day to see if they make any difference and help me feel more energetic when training. Will have a look at the calories values this week some time. Also made a decision not to replenish the work biscuit barrel as if they're there I'll eat them - although maybe that's not totally fair on those I work with (but I did resist buying the 1% fat milk instead of semi skimmed for them not that it's taste hugely different)

Is it bad that im not shocked about victorys situation? Diabetes is really common and i think they just get complacent with it. No excuse i know, but unless youre in a diabetic coma i bet they dont really care!

I hope you get the help you need victory.

I'm working on the election count next week and it's likely to go through the night - can someone advise some small snacks I can take in to keep me energised and full - they're supplying tea and biccies - but I want to avoid biccies and also stay awake till almost my normal waking up time (I have already booked the next day off work :p). They need to be non messy, easy to eat (and fast to eat) as we're likely to only have the odd tea break every couple of hours.

    Oh and healthyish :rotfl:

Well I have a wonderful Birthday and weekend.
Had a BBQ at the beach on saturday but had marinated turkey steak which was lovely :D But it was nice to just relax and not worry about anything. My Mum is doing well and enjoyed the relaxed lunch too.

I got some great presents My Tefal Actifry which I am so impressed with. I took Eric's advice and got the extra virgin Rapeseed oil and the taste was amazing on my wedges :D

I also got some new scales that do BMI, BMR, Fat % etc........ got a little shock at what my fat % is but now I can work on getting it lower. But the fun thing is I can upload the results on to the computer and see my progress, But I don't know what the impact will be on my weigh in this week

Victory - I hope you are feeling better and have managed to get to see someone who can help you. 11 Hypo's is not a good place to be

Eric and RetiredLady - I cannot thank you both enough for changing my mind on the actifry, I did a lovely stirfry last night and to be able to use so little oil but great taste so thank you :A

Hope everyone is having a good day x

    Hippo Birdy :j:j

Honestly I would not have been able to come this far without my actifry, its the single most important thing in my battle

the short term hormone release buzz from choccy just leads to a longer period of payback by being more down ..

I've been a bit AWOL of late, too much going on here for me at the mo, and not all good either. On the upside, it's making me not feel like eating, so bonus I guess? I am reading and keeping up with you all though.

Victory - I do hope you have had more joy today with finding help and a resolution to your problem. It simply isn't good enough to have you feeling so poorly with no substantial support. I wonder if it is just your PCT or if all are like this? I'm fortunate that I very rarely make a trip to the doctor, altho' I avoid it, and would rather see a dentist.

    Eric
    - hang on in there buddy, make a big effort these last couple of days, and you should be fine. You had a big loss last week, so maybe that's also a factor to consider?

    - belated happy birthday wishes to you. Seriously thinking of getting an actifry if I can ebay enough stuff, but need a haircut & garden furniture 1st!

Vix - Did you enjoy the wedding fair, and did you get any ideas (or did Matt)? How's the job going?

BB - Firemen you say? Hmmm, they have to be fairly fit don't they? OK, lovely visual going on for me now....

Granny - how's your new job going?

Fred - how about a pot of mixed fruit salad with natural yogurt, or some flapjack, bananas, mixed spice Nairns oatcakes (not like the ones you have with cheese), or even a protein bar from the healthfood shop (maximuscle, go lower or their own version are like a small meal in a chocolate fudge bar). These are all things I've used in the past when out & about, but not wanting to be tempted. If I have my own stash of food, I feel able to cope better and not fall off the wagon, I guess because I'm not leaving eating to chance.
