Hello
Seems like ages since I've been here! Superman and I have travelled 1,300 miles by road and ferry since I was last on line, and when I opened Lose Weight 28 I was surprised to see only a few pages so I was merrily reading away only to discover that a new thread had been started, with several more pages to catch up on. I'm afraid I haven't read all the posts, but welcome to all the newcomers.
I'm also very pleased to say that I lost 2lbs this week, so I've lost over a stone!:D:D Superman STS, much to his annoyance. We were both rather queasy on board the ferry, it wasn't rough, but the Atlantic swell had a funny effect on us, so we retired early to the cabin without any dinner and ate very little on board, so he was expecting to have lost pounds!
Good luck to everyone else this week.

Eric, you might be able to work out your approx rate of muscle gain using some of the values & formulae at this link. For example, it says a male in the first year of serious bodybuilding training, can on average expect to potentially gain 2lb of lean muscle per month. I'm sure you'll be able to find other references for this kind of thing, knowing your penchant for stats etc
.
I found this interesting site from your link which gives the following prediction
http://www.weightrainer.net/bodypred.html
Now interestingly that is very close to what I used to be, 54" chest 21" bicep and 20" neck
Now I assume the figures are going to be out a bit because of current fat levels
However with skin fold callipers i only have 6mm on my wrists and less than 3mm on my ankle, more interesting my calves have 20mm of fat .... but measure 21.2 inches so if you take the fat of its almost bang on his figures, we will ignore the thighs for nowAnd it puts me at 18-19 stone which is exactly where I was.
We shall see how this turns out but it backs up what I was guestimating at my target at :j
Oh and it also shows what utter crap the NHS charts are as this is 70lbs heavier than my ideal weight according to them .....0 -
Hey hey guys great news - I GOT THE JOB!!! :j:j:j:j:j
Best birthday pressie ever (apart from OH buying me lunch today), I start on Monday. It's a temp contract but a good one for my cv and breadth of experience in my area and I'm chuffed as nuts to get it. The company (cant say who) is one of - if not THE - biggest in the land (leave you to work out who but they do get featured quite heavily on MSE) and they are a stickler for detail which is why its taken a few days to get the confirmation and the recruitment consultant said that I had come through their process with flying colours. Phew!! another one in the bag!!
Thanks all for all the birthday wishes - wont be celebrating tonight as I'm 'working' but we're all off to see We Will Rock You on Saturday so we'll celebrate then!!:D:D:D

Absolutely brilliant news hezza!!!!! And happy birthday :j:beer::j:beer:
KatiePatie feel free to post your pics, I hated seeing mine on the front page of Lose Weight 28. So go for it. I'm pretty sure everyone was sick of looking at my fat a$$ too. :rotfl::rotfl:
Been very good today, although, I did have a handful of sucky sweets too. This stopping smoking and losing weight at the same time is hard. But I keep going, stopping smoking is most important for me atm, although did have some at weekend. Dinner party, smokers, temptation. Staying home all weekend and going to be good. Not even going to have a single beer!!!! And going to prepare for my German visitors next week.
Stupid car been making funny noises too, so been to garage today and it's sick to the tune of £185  There goes the cash i saved from not smoking :eek:4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

Having a kinda bad day - but not in the usual eat crap way. Overslept so missed breakfast and forgot to weigh myself  Went to circuits at lunchtime, couldn't have my usual energy boosting banana as they'd gone off but never mind. Then got so busy engrossed in work that I forgot to eat lunch  and then (stupidly I know-please no lectures) went to circuits again - luckily it was an arms circuit there was no way that I could have run. However I have just had a suprisingly pleasant dinner in our dining hall so not all is lost :rotfl:
Also weighed myself this evening (I know this will skew my results a bit as I'm a first thing in the morning weigher) but seems I have lost 1.5lb hopefully it stays lost. On a positive note the circuits I'm managing to get to (not quite the nine a week I hoped to) are having a wonderful toning effect on my stomach arms and even slightly on my legs.0 -
