    Hey gang, I'm back!

Blimey you lot don't half natter a lot (I love it), and it's taken me best part of an hour's reading to catch up on the last 10 pages.

I had a lovely few days up in Liverpool with my best friend. Food was hit & miss. We indulged, but it wasn't manic, and i was grateful for that. My friend has lost more weight, and looks great; I'm so happy for her, as she seems to have a positive outlook and motivation to succeed I think.

After easter and generally not paying much attention to my food of late, I am determined to keep more focussed again, and want to drop a dress size before the summer. Doable, definitely.

Vix - welcome back to the chart! How's things at Matt's parents?

BB - I hope you're feeling better soon, and that you've got the boiler situation under control. We're all here thinking fondly of you, and here whenever you're about.

DMV - I had something very similar to your TOTM a couple of years back. I used to have the Depo jab, which is like the mini-pill. For a couple of years I was OK, and didn't even have breakthrough bleeds, but then it all changed. I had a 3 week period, too heavy to leave the house, and had to see my GP in the end. He prescribed me some tablets to stop it, and within a day or so it was gone. He suspected it was my jab, and said he wouldn't do another one, so we had to rethink our contraception. OH offered to have the snip, although declined my kind offer of a DIY version with 2 warmed housebricks..... I have to say the doctor who finally did it was worse than I'd have been

It is such a lovely day here that I am going to go back out into the garden to potter about.

Here's a bit of motivational eye candy for y'all.

    Hello all,

Well done to all the losers, even if you're a day early! I am gearing myself up for weigh in first thing tomorrow morning... haven't lost any weight in months, and then put some back on, so kinda dreading it. Usually I'm about 10 st 4 so fingers crossed it'll be less.

Went to a gruelling gym class yesterday - my legs hurt so much that it took twice as long to get to work this morning! and I spent the whole day oohing and aaahhing every time i had to walk anywhere!! must mean something's working though.

Am trying to alternate low cal days with normal days as i read somewhere that this is v effective in speeding up your metabolism and keeping your body guessing and not going into starvation mode or getting lazy. I will try to find the link to the article.

Anyway, so yesterday was v good, and today I had a little bit of choc and some rather fatty lamb for dinner, but still not going overboard and sticking under 1700 (ish) cals.

Isn't the weather lovely still? Makes me wanna lose weght extra fast so i can feel good in my swimming costume this year! (tho whether i'll be going away remains to be seen, good job i didnt book a flight before all this volcano business hit - hope no one here is being badly affected)

    :)

Good call Eric, I was trying to think of someone with a naturally good bodyshape, and I agree Kelly is lovely. Well, I was trying to find pics of what I felt might appeal to the masses. I know which women I think look nice, but they're not necessarily going to be to most men's taste. I considered Pamela Anderson, but then she's just fake anyway, and all the supermodels are skinny with no curves. No idea what men really like these days, coz Cheryl Cole is a stick insect, but all little girls want to be like her. God knows why? I prefer someone with a bit of substance about them, so it's got to be a funny personality, intelligence, sassy and nice looks too. So I think P!nk is a nice girl, not stupid, likes to read, and doesn't take herself to seriously.

As for Sawyer, I like the rugged look, but he's not as bulky and toned for my taste. My pin-up is actually Dave Grohl, but he's not muscular at all, however it's talent and funnyness winning for me there. My OH is built like Daniel Craig, but wants to get a bit bigger, but he also wants to be 'rip'. Dropping body fat to a bare minimum makes it harder to do that, and just like Eric, it's finding that balance.

I have good news today too. OH asked at the gym for me, and I should be eligible for a reduced fee membership, so am going to apply. I'll be able to get back into my routine once again, and it'll help with the weight loss.

    Hi all

Weather is lovely here too, although there's a chilly wind. Day off today and I got some cycling in this morning.

Went shopping and while we were out saw a woman who was seriously obese and struggling to walk. I felt really sorry for her, but it also made me feel fortunate not to be in the same situation - it kind of put things in perspective in a way, I may be obese but I can walk, cycle, swim and therefore do something about it, but I think once people get to a certain point of obesity it becomes so difficult to exercise that there's nothing they can do to stop it getting worse and worse. Her car was in a disabled space and I did wonder if it was the obesity that disabled her, or a disability that made her obese. Thought provoking...

Well done for all the losses reported so far - good luck to everyone who is joining me on the scales tomorrow morning! Remember - step ever so lightly and gazelle like onto the scale. (Those who have been around for a while may remember a previous member, Petrichor, who said that and it became our mantra for quite a while afterwards.)

    See you tomorrow.
