eating refined carbs or carbs late in the day when your not going to be active is not ideal thou
I read the book yesterday and he definately doesnt avoid carbs unless they're refined.
The basics of it seem to be a healthy balanced diet, using more calories up than we put in and regular excercise.
His regular excercise involves building muscle to assist the burning of fat.
We'll give it a 12 week try on the beginners level and see how it goes.
As it doesnt involve giving up or restricting any food group, it cant be too bad.0 -

will this do...0 -
Oh wow. Dan Snow certainly IS 'eye-candy'. He's not 'just a pretty face' either - I've watched some of his TV programmes and he comes across well. I used to think Michael Wood ticked all the boxes, but Dan Snow is there as well.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

sarymclary I agree with you and the Dave Grohl thing mmmmmm... Great news about the gym - you'll be fit and back in shape in no time :T
I'm gonna start the "if it doesn't move eat it diet" cos I weighed myself this morning and can report a 2.25lb loss - thanks Fred. I have no idea how because the amount of cr*p I ate this week has been ridiculous - but I don't care :j:j

I had heard they have rewritten the atkins diet recently, from what you say there it is very close to my system, although I do restrict addictive foods
and all diets no matter what system used is cals in and cals out0 -

Yes, definately.
The book I got wasnt the rewritten French Atkins one tho lol I gave up on that years ago.
TBH theres a lot of the book in what you've already wrote about on this thread.0 -
Another STS this week, but after a weekend of indulgence, and it's nearing the end of my Totm, so natural anyway.
Got an afternoon of baking to look forward to now. The kids need their packed lunch bits doing, and I'd rather make them, knowing the ingredients, than buy pre-packed rubbish.
Eric - fabulous loss this week, I bet that secures yet another SOTW title. You'll need a new set of shelves for the awards
Victory - I bet that 6lb is gone again by next week. It's just water, you know that, because you've eaten as normal this week. Still not nice to see the figures there tho, huh?One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -

would be fabulous if i could keep that up for the next 6 months, I would hit goal 3 months early, not holding out any hope of being able to keep it up
cardio is getting harder, my stupid body is getting fitter, i have to go like a nutter to keep my heart rate around 160 for an hour now, my T shirt this morning was so wet I may as well had gone swimming in it :rotfl:
I went into ketosis this morning for the last 30 mins of cardio, i don't ever recall doing it before even as a gym bunny, leaves a bloody horrible taste in your mouth thats for sure...0 -
Hi all, some good losses coming in so far
Also the sts/gains seem expected for certain reasons so no disasters
Im very happy to report a 0.5lb loss. I know that isnt a huge deal but I havent been eating mega healthy with all that chocolate so it should mean the small changes ive been making have made an impact which makes them worth it. 2 days into a new pill which again screams "can cause weight gain" so lets really hope it doesnt!

Flying visit peeps. Still reading. Feeling a lot better this week, headaches gone but brain energy entirely taken up with preparing for my exhitbtion at a gallery for the month of May.
Day 12 of no hot water and week and just entering week 5 of no heating. Not likely to have a new boiler for several weeks yet while I go through the necessary legal processes.
Lois - like beanie, I still miss the wonderful petrichor and also think of her often.
Off to meet Granny (who is on holiday in sussex this week) for tea and raw carrot in an hour:D
2lb gain for me this week thanks FredI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0
