We did the Swimathon last night and came 1st and 2nd at our distance (2.5k)!!! :D

DD completed hers in 57mins and 30 seconds then had to sit and wait for me to finish in 1 hour 17 mins and 47 seconds. For at least half the time I was fighting cramp in my left foot which a tried to shake off by using a really powerful breast stoke kick which DD said was sending shock waves through the water :rotfl::rotfl:!! So pleased to have completed it (I was quite apprehensive beforehand) so treated myself by skipping my aqua class this morning and walking to the local CBS; didn't get any plants but got a book and PS2 game for DS plus some 1st edition books - a Shakespeare collection (for me 'cos its a lovely thing to have) and a history book which I'm going to ebay at some point.

margaret - ref goggles, I've been though more pairs than I can count, including some supposedly "racing" ones which I got from ebay but I couldn't get to fit around my eyes properly for love nor money. I just stick to bog-standard Speedo ones that you can get more or less anywhere; they all claim to be "anti-fog" but whenever I do any kind of exercise my face get really hot - even in a cold pool - and my goggles fog up, and they do start to cut into my head after a while too (they weren't too bad last night but I think adrenalin had something to do with it!!). I hate it when water leaks in so spend ages getting the fit around my eyes right, I can't swim without goggles at all cos I hate getting chlorine in my eyes, I even take them on holiday with me.

Any exercise makes my face go pink and hot (something to do with working fat off I'm told) no matter what it is - aerobics, running, weights, swimming - so much so that it looks like I'm having a stroke or something. :rotfl:It also takes ages for the pinkness to go away again so if I go for an early morning run (those were the days!) then I have to wait for about an hour before I can put any make-up on :D At least I look like I've been working hard!! :rotfl:

victory - I've also worked for someone who was an out-and-out bully, not just to me but to just about everybody. If he had been any good at his job then it might have been "ok" (though there are no circumstances where it is ever okay) but he wasn't; my only consolation during that time was the knowledge that I wasn't being singled out, he was the same to everybody. After a few months of being completely stressed I came to the realisation that the problem wasn't with me - it was with him. I wasn't a bad person and hadn't suddenly become cr*p at my job, but he was cr*p at his and was over-compensating big-time by taking it out on everyone else. Once I'd reconciled myself to that I got on much better and was able to rise above it, his ranting and raving had zero impact on me any more. Sadly it took 3 years before his bosses realised what was going on and got rid of him bit it was pretty unpleasant in the meantime. Just remember - its not you, its her ;)

Lovely lovely weekend so far, hope everyone else is enjoying some sunshine. OH is in the garden at the moment putting our new rotary lawn mower together, so I'm off down the garden centre to get my plants!!

Hope everyone has a good week!!

Going pink in the face during exercise is i doubt anything to do with burning fat and more likely that the intensive activity is raising your core temperature, to combat this the body sends blood to near the surface of the skin so you can cool quicker and you start to sweat. More blood near the surface of the skin in the face makes you go pink or in my case red :p Reverse is true when you get cold, the blood moves away from the skin to core organs and you go blue.

We went out in SWMBO's convertible yesterday with the top down, roofs a bit stiff with 110k miles on the clock, was a perfect clear sky :T My head sticks slightly over the top, shows how much I have lost thou, before I literally had to be greased and shoved to get into it and consequently filled up the whole side, now i can get in and out easily.

Thanks to the extra cals yesterday i had to go like a nutter for the first 30 mins to keep my heart rate up and then consequently I hit the wall and then run through it for 15 mins which is crap and painfull ..

Thanks hezza;) 3 years:eek: I was thinking until august when I had in my health care assistant module, pass it and then go somewhere else that is more pleasant to work in:D she keeps telling me I know nothing because I have not worked in a pharmacy before and when I challenged her yesterday that I do know about customer service because since the age of 9 helping out my parents I have worked with people, of all ages and nationalities and know that people are people whether they come from within a chemist environment or a charity shop or a bar wherever people want to be dealt with politeness , a smile, be listened to, understood, taken care of, sold the right product and will call again, oh no says she I have got it all wrong, I know nothing but seen as I can't be told and think I know everything she will not bother talking to me:rotfl:

That must be awful! Do you use the pill or are you all natural? Im lucky that my period is light and only about 4 days long. It used to be a good 7 only a few years ago. 11 though is really bad. Make sure youre eating some iron and things.

I was trying a mini pill which is a weaker version of the normal one and without oestrogen which you take constantly without a break, some people dont have periods at all and others are messed up and irregular...guess which one I am?! Am off of it now and after 12 days finally stopped, am trying a different type of mini pill in a few days which i will hopefully respond better to.

On a food note...im having curry tonight. oops. Have been much better eating last couple of days tho so hopefully wont do too much damage.

Oops! Was doing well but now had 2 weeks off for Easter and it's all gone to pot (mainly my big pot belly :o).

Put on 5 lbs and really mad at myself for doing so. Was going to think stuff it and cancel my Tesco diets but it was working before so going to bite the bullet and try again.

Hot weather this weekend has made me think how much I want to be at least half a stone lighter by the "summer". This is what I need to keep picturing in head over the next week as I re-adjust again...

Keep reading about all you guys who are into exercise. Never have been myself other than walking due to not owning a car. Think I need to find an exercise regime that I will enjoy and stick to!!

Keep up the good work folks, well done to Eric getting in the convertible :)

My finger is now not sore after the needle has been removed, but the antibiotics are not good, they make everything taste of paracetamol, it's not nice. Stops me eating though, oh ok it doesn't stop me but at least it slows me down !! :D

    Hope everyone else is well.

Right, ive made a ground breaking decision. After being on lose weight for i dunno how long? 2 years? Must be...something like that? Well anyway i have decided that i wanna be on that chart, this is the fattest i have been for awhile, can really see it in my stomach and its going! So can you put me on the chart fred for the first time in probably a year and a half! ha. Thanks.

Today is our last night in the flat :( weve been moving so much stuff, and then in the afternoon i cleaned everything in the kitchen. Were sitting on bean bags with a cardboard box as a table! Matt has the most work to do, im at work now untill thursday so im only able to help in the evenings ha.

Im going to go for walks, there is a lake near by to where i am moving to, and some woods. I'll also be walking futher to work now (no more leaving home at 8:40 to start work at 8:55)

right, next time im on here i'd have moved out and probably typing this from matts parents house *cries*
