The onion would work if you cut into quarters, courgette and peppers again are good but leave them in fairly large chunks. I normally do butternut squash, carrots, parsnips, swede, onions and peppers! Lovely!

My boss asked me yesterday what was the reason I was 7 1/2 stone heavier than I am now and I told him 'greed, huge portions enough for 4 people, not eating good foods, going for the rubbish, not exercising and generally being a lazy greedy pig' he was taken aback and said ' wow, nothing like honesty is there?' Well no, because the truth is that, blame is at my feet, end of, choices in life, salad or burger, pasta bake for 4 or a normally portioned nutritional dinner ? No thanks I will have as much food as my stomach can take and then 20 mins later start having some more, what do you mean that makes me gain 7 stone? How bizzare:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

actifrys do sound rather fab, but I like oven chips so not that bothered! I've swapped to rapeseed oil too - I use one from Wharfe Valley Farms which is about 5 miles from my house so i feel all virtuous and local yokel when i use it. I like it because you can sub it for normal olive oil when cooking, but also it has enough flavour to do for extra virgin for marinades etc.

I can understand your bosses surprise Victory - you are very hard on yourself at times! I have to lose at least another 7 1/2 stone and I certainly don't feel that I am lazy greedy pig and I don't think a lot of overweight people are either!

I do think I have made some bad choices in my life with regards to my eating habits, I know that there psychological reasons why I overeat and I know that some of the medications I am on in addition to my diabetes makes it more difficult for me to lose weight. However I still love and respect myself! I can't expect other people to love and respect me if I can't do it for myself now can I?

    Marion

No, in no way to do I think yourself or others or anyone else on the entire planet that is larger than is expected for BMI height etc is a greedy pig, would not call you or anyone else that ever just simply being honest pure honest with myself and only myself and answering my boss questions when he asked me yesterday, just about me not anyone else.

I have no issues with love and respect, I quite like me won't go as far as love respect yes because I have had to listen to my body often to make sure I can look after my family, I know when I have a flare up of arthritis I should rest because otherwise my kids suffer in the long run as I do in their care needs and as for the diabetes then yes also has to be carefully monitored what my body asks it gets.

It took 6 years, family said, docs said, friends would say odd things, documentaries on the tele would say BMI is too high, waist circumference was too big, all the info was there but never took a blind bit of notice until I realised myself it was no good, I had to do something and do it before it got so bad there was no going back:D

HI peeps, I am reading but not up to posting at the mo - I'm fine, just a lot of stuff going on and too many headaches. Haven't the additional energy to comment on posts, but I am doing the relevant ooh, ahh and applauding for real. xx
