my hunger finally broke at 10pm when i tucked into a plate of vegetables--one thing i did without yesterday was coffee--what does coffee actually stimulate --its not eating sweet things with me because i never have touched sugarey things-i enjoy the mix of coffee and halzelnuts!-
-Eric nuts are great if you have the calorie allowance--i didnt even touch them yesterday though!
i had salad with olives for breakfast and 2 small slices of diet bread - spaghetti soup-chick beans and a little rice for lunch--and vegetables at 10pm---and 3 cups of green tea during the day--could this be the miracle suppressant??mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -

Caffeine is a Psychoactive drug, it also causes the release of sugar from the liver which acts as an energy kick, the two affects combine make you feel alert and have an energy boost.
However if you drink it everyday you become tolerant to it so actually need caffeine just to become "normal", many caffeine drinkers will say "I am dead in the morning till I have my first coffee" well guess why, in a similar way a drug addict needs there drug fix to return to a more normal state rather than just getting high. Although the effect with caffeine is alot less of course. The release of sugar from the liver causes insulin production which can in some people but not all then lead to a need to eat, this effect is greatly reduced if the caffeine is taken with a meal thou (since you have sugar etc being digested)

Your diet certainly sounds wrong, you skipped a meal and then ate at 10pm because you where Hungary? Not eating enough and skipping meals will just force your body to go into starvation mode. Eating late at night just puts energy into the body it does not need so it stores it as fat.
Its critical you eat regularly, ideally every 3-4 hours, balanced meals and avoid energy dense foods if you can (or calorie count them). This keeps your metabolism work, stops you feeling Hungary and stops your body shutting down as you are forcing it to work.
The extra couple of meals do not have to be big, it could be like this just as an example
7.00 am Breakfast
11.00 am some fruit
1.00 pm lunch
4.00 pm 25g of nuts
7.00 pm dinner0 -
thanks---i was just eating when i was hungry--i do like to flex my will power in life and food is one thing that i seem to addicted to.-i will graze as you suggest and cut out the coffee--maybe that was the route of the addiction--last week i couldnt function without my 1st cup in the morning but this week -i have had a bottle of water ready for my thirst 1st thing--now i dont miss it!!--i have even given my favourite mug to my wife to diminish any weakness to having a cup during the day at home.-
Eating early is hard to do because i work from about 3pm onward--some days are slow and i just have 1 lesson but i like to eat with my wife who is always late home--its a love thang!!mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.0 -

i would say its not about will power its about discipline which require will power
i totally agree about eating with your missus and work, what you have to do is try to rearrange things so that you can get your eating times to fit your real life
i take a little bag with 25g of mixed nuts in it (i make it with my lunch) which i snack on in the afternoon at work0 -

The onion would work if you cut into quarters, courgette and peppers again are good but leave them in fairly large chunks. I normally do butternut squash, carrots, parsnips, swede, onions and peppers! Lovely!

Morning:D I forgot to say yesterday because of the training course like hezza said being on the road you end up with rubbish foods to eat that taste disgusting and are very high in cals etc so not knowing where I would be for lunch decided to make myself a white bread ham sandwich with tomatoes and take that with me, I never eat sandwiches or bread now as lunch or a snack only when I loose control really and chomp loads of it but lunches are light based, soups and salads, crackers with houmous that kind of thing, anyway... ate the sandwich, never thought anything of it (apart from this is more calories than I normally have in my soups/salads, will have to be more active in the afternoon) a couple of hours later was walking up the road to work wondering why the walk was such an effort, felt bloated and sluggish, like my legs needed help to be pushed along, couldn't understand it at all until I realised you are what you eat and I had eaten according to my stomach ability to digest foods...stodge, might as well have been bread and butter pudding:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I never ate again for 5 hours, didn't need to, cement had amassed in my stomach and was keeping me down:rotfl::rotfl: never say never but back to soups for me and no sandwiches for lunch times:D0

Well no, because the truth is that, blame is at my feet, end of, choices in life, salad or burger, pasta bake for 4 or a normally portioned nutritional dinner ? No thanks I will have as much food as my stomach can take and then 20 mins later start having some more, what do you mean that makes me gain 7 stone? How bizzare:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Yeh went to the hospital yesterday, they x-rayed the offending finger to find that the needle was in my finger, :eek:
I was transferred to another hospital because they couldn't see any sticking out to pull at it...... Was taken into surgery at 8pm last night and was having the needle removed from the bone(oh yes when I do something I do it properly!!) under local anasthetic by half past, the most painful bit was when they put the local anasthetic in!! It hurt more than the needle going in originally!!
Quite quick really, was home and in my own bed by midnight, finger is a little sore today, not especially so considering the hammering that went on to get the needle out!!
Diet is still on track though lolYou never know how strong you are until you have no other option.0 -

I can understand your bosses surprise Victory - you are very hard on yourself at times! I have to lose at least another 7 1/2 stone and I certainly don't feel that I am lazy greedy pig and I don't think a lot of overweight people are either!
I do think I have made some bad choices in my life with regards to my eating habits, I know that there psychological reasons why I overeat and I know that some of the medications I am on in addition to my diabetes makes it more difficult for me to lose weight. However I still love and respect myself! I can't expect other people to love and respect me if I can't do it for myself now can I?
