my aim for the gym is lots of aerobic stuff--cycling hill walking and the groups--to spice aerobics up i carry the little arm weights--i am a man--i do a very short time in the weight room--i generally am inert and office bound so i dont need strength or want to impress with my pecs!!-i think women prefer lean to over muscled for all those younger guys!!

Hello peeps! Remember me (from a galaxy far far away)? Haven't been on for AGES and thought I'd say hello. Hope you are all doing well. Since I was on last I joined WW online (the freebie three month trial) and I've lost 1 stone 2lbs! Admittedly I've also upped the exercise too but at last I've found something I can stick to. Oh well still 2 stone to go.......

    well done :T:T:T

i hadnt thought about my eczema--i have a mild form of it and havent swum in a pool since developing it!--i will stick to the gym!--in turkey they regard pools as very unhealthy and few use pools despite the ideal climate and abundance of pools--at university you have to have a medical cert before you can enter the pool to say you are ok---and its a uni with a hospital campus!

you wouldn't be strength training to impress anyone or to get to any sort of size like a body builder, it would be to tone up and be healthier and to naturally burn more calories

there's a world of difference from looking like a scrawny pathetic stick insect and a huge over sized body builder, theres a healthy balance some where in the middle

my wife is always telling me that gerard butler has it spot on as she sits there drooling all over the TV :rotfl:

i hope i done sound conceited but that is very simular to my normal body shape and muscle mass--i just have a belly --i dont think gerald is in his 40s??--i used to do sport regularly through school and uni---i have been to gyms but never sought to build muscle--my brother is the same height as me but much less sculpted--he never partook in sport and was studious--my wife calls him weedy!! but he weighs about 10stone compared to my 13--i was always told the circumference of your wrist indicated your frame--he has very thin wrists and i have the opposite

Ref Curves - we have one in town and I did try it for a while; I agree with Dee that its a great place for wimmin, no mirrors, no pressure, gentle 30 min workout etc. My problem is their opening hours - 9am to 7pm and closed for 2 hours at lunchtime, and 9-12 on Saturdays. When you work full time those hours are ridiculous, there is no way I could get there 3 times a week, Saturday mornings was all I could manage which meant that it just wasnt effective for me. Its a great concept and I really enjoyed going, the staff there made it really good fun, but if they could just be more flexible with their opening times I'm sure they would attract many more members.

And yes I have told them but the response was along the lines of "that's not going to happen"

Dinah - glad to hear you are eating more again. That's were differnt eating plans require a huge committment to meal plan so you do have enough to eat.
Is you knee prob the cruciate? That was the keyhole my employer had and she had good results from the op.

Nope I have a chondral lesion caused by chondromalacia patellae, basically the lining of my knee has been wearing away for years (which it shouldnt be doing anyway) and now its torn. Its just wierd, its only supposed to occur in teenage girls and the over 45s, and I'm 25 - so why did I get it?!
