First thing in the morning is the time of day when you're likely to get the most consistant result as Eric says, but if you have body analyser scales they apparently give more accurate readings if you're well hydrated - which is not usually the case first thing.
I used to feel like weighing first thing was cheating, because that's obviously when we're at our lightest. I got over that though and now I always weigh first thing!0 -

day one went okay, did snack, but shared it with oh instead of waiting till his back was turned and scoffing hte lot.
thats the main thing, the same system every week
oh yeah its wednesday, BH had put me out a day
-4.5 lbs lose this week :jalthough some of this carried over from last week if you remember
trained ok today, that's the first time with only 1 day rest between it which is great news as it means I can bring forward OPERATION GUNS from July :T:T:T
ie I can start piling on the mass to get my RMR maxed out0 -
My actual body fat changes/results (combined with counting calorie intake). I've worked out my own formula for exercise based on heart rate & duration, which gets tweaked over time if I find I'm losing or gaining slightly. Otherwise if I'm maintaining as usual then I know I'm definitely not overestimating calories burned
.
Another thing to remember is a lot of the various calorie burn calculators use gross calories instead of net (i.e. they include the calories you would have burned anyway even if you'd sat still instead of exercised, which of course are already counted in your BMR - so don't count them twice!).
:iloveyou: if only my missus was this much of a geek
My HRM looks at your age, sex, height, weight and than calcs your calorie burn based on your heart rate over the training session, it seams to be pretty accurate as well.0 -

Hi all
well done to all the losers, some great results.
Fred - please put me down for a 0.5 loss
Am pleased with that result as it's better than nothing however am going to try harder and do more excerise this week to improve.
Am trying to reduce carbs and increase protein to stay fuller longer and stop sugar cravings - any advice? or success stories?? or meal suggestions?
I had a lovely protein-rich salad today - usual salad (lettuce, cucumber, etc) with lentils, chickpeas, cooked turkey, olives and feta. YUM!!Moneysavinghopeful :rotfl:0 -
Unhappily reporting a 2 lb gain for me too! I blame it on the change of the weather and absolutly nothinng to do with that pizza I had:oWhen life hands you lemons, ask for tequilla and salt and give me a call!!!0

Are you sure?:D Here goes, don't do it to yourself, think of yourself as your best friend if they were asking you for help you would give them the best advice you had, you would help them along the way, do the very best for them, do that for yourself for you because you are worth it because you will have more fun lighter, a better quality of life, feel more energized, happier, healthier, be out and about more, enjoying the freedom that lighter bodies have, summer is coming, you don't want to hide, you want to be out there, kicking a ball about in the park or just playing frisbee, you want to be in it, joining in and having fun, you want to sit outside the pub and watch the world go by enjoying your determination and motivation to change yourself:D Do it for you because you are the most special person there is and you so deserve to be content:D0 -

I'm probably eating slightly more bread than usual but it's now wholemeal seeded batch or i've had a Burgen soya and seed this week (or something similar). It really keeps me fuller for longer.0
