    *sigh*

I ate 200g biscuits on top of my 1300 calories yesterday - not an appropriate action after a good gym session.

Rewarding exercise with inappropriate amounts of junk food is precisely why I have a stone to lose. I've taken the first step of admitting this stupid habit, and by being by posting here I hope to knock it on the head!

Climbing back on the wagon today, no point starving my self for the next 24 hours or I;ll just pig out again.

I have a long walk planned today to stretch out my legs after squatting in the gym.

habit / cravings are a pain in the bum.. but you can beat them if you can muster up a few days rock iron will power

I am ecstatic as I have found that i can eat crunchy peanut butter :j:j

Monthly weigh in = 0.1 kg loss (water). I seem to be maintaining no matter how I 'tweak' my intake each month! Going to relax a bit for 2 days and enjoy a few extra cals, then get back to 1600/day from Tuesday. Although I'd like to lose a little bit, I'm still pleased with my maintaining so far this year :).

It's almost the 3 year anniversary of when I realised I had to lose weight, and I haven't forgotten how miserable I felt with myself that day. I've felt so much better every day since the weight came off.

Hope everyone's having a lovely bank hol weekend! :D

Eric - why that particular peanut better - because it is sugar free?

    Well done Missy :-)

Can I ask how much you have lost over the 3 years please, and what was the specific trigger for deciding to lose it?

Thanks Pud_ding, I lost approx 3 stone in 8 months during 2007, and I've maintained within the same half stone ever since (my weight does tend to fluctuate a bit, so I prefer to have a small 'maintain range', rather than trying to stay just one weight all the time).

The trigger was looking at myself in the mirror after waking up on my birthday and basically thinking 'look at the state of me'!!!!! I started my diet that very second, no birthday treats for me that day! :p Once the weight started to come off, I realised I needed to do more than just lose weight in order to be healthier and I've made a lot of changes.

Good luck with breaking your habit, you've recognised why there's a bit of weight to lose and what you need to do about it, so the rest is plain sailing, right?! :D;)

Sary that is SO dreadful. As I read what had happened I was amazed at the 'mother's' behaviour but when it got to - 'let him pierce his lip' I shrieked. That's a permanent change to your son. I'm freaky about piercings anyway ...Vix said the woman needed a good slapping .... I'd agree. I'm so glad he's home safely with you now. Good luck.

Why would you want to do that? Or shouldn't I ask? Granny goes off shaking head in puzzlement.

:rotfl:I've always fancied it, and think it'd be a good party trick! I love seeing dancers just fall into splits and the expression on their faces stays exactly the same!! Although, de1amo may have put me off now, haha!

Missy thanks so much for all the info, also reading about your "wakeup moment" is inspiring! It was 2years February just gone that I initially lost my big chunk of weight, and I have been maintaining since, just have the last niggly bit!!!

I am going to aim for 1500-1600 cals a day, but since I exercise everyday at different levels I will adjust as I feel necessary. It is so hard to keep track unless you go into sooo much detail like Missy does, and I do admire that, I just find some of it quite complicated ??

I also thought that by buying a HRM that I would be doing myself a favour, but it sounds as though it might just complicate matters even more! What on earth is reliable enough

Apologies for the rant! Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Andy is going into work as normal tomorrow, so I am going to do ALL of the ironing :D what a way to spend a free day off work eh?

Hi everyone -though I've not been posting (much) I have still been lurking so managing to keep up with all your news, ups downs trials and tribulations. The last couple of weeks have been a bit strange and dieting has been the last thing on my mind so haven't been near any scales. My MIL's funeral was on Friday so in the spirit of turning that corner and getting back to normal I'm applying to rejoin the thread please! :D

Fred - could you re-set the chart to zero for me please!

Sary - sounds like a nightmare with DS, I am constantly amazed that some so-called parents can be so uncaring about others, but then you should meet some of my extended family that I've been seeing rather too much of recently ;) I'm convinced that one of my nephews is ADD or autistic or something his behaviour is so erratic, then I look at his mother and I'm not so surprised, he practically beats her up every time he goes near her (slapping, pinching, jumping on her every time she sits down, shouting right in her face when he wants something) - and she does nothing about it......she says that if he has coca-cola then he goes a bit mad, so what does she do? she lets him drink coca-cola and suddenly I'm worried about the furniture being able to take it. Sheesh!!

Eric-Meister - you are such an inspiration on here, please dont give up on yourself

Welcome to all the newbies!! :D :hello:

So I'm going back to Harcombe Diet but I'm also going to give Food Focus a go, its been recommended by so many people on here.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your bank holiday weekend!! :)Andy - I've had a lot of laundry to catch up on so I've split the ironing over 2 days, much better than trying to do it all in one go. I am not "normal" cos I hate hate hate ironing and cant bear the thought of spending half a day doing nothing else. I know so many women who love it, it's just that I can think of so many other things I could be doing with my time!

Has anyone got an EasiYo yoghurt maker? They sell it in pots in the canteen at work and it tastes fine, I eat a lot of plain yoghurt so was wondering what's in EasYo but cant find a list of ingredients anywhere.

Sounds like a job for Eric :D;)

I'm reading this with a feeling of envy that people got to a point in their adult life when they realised they needed to lose weight - envy because I was about 7 and it was the taunts and namecalling from other school children that made me realise it. I've had a constant battle with my weight ever since.:o
