Your exercise should be included in your activity level before taking off the 15% especially if you're doing a lot, otherwise the 'cut' could be too severe and it could lead to metabolic slowdown and muscle loss (which makes further fat loss more difficult), and negatively impact your exercise performance. Once you see what's happening with a reduction of 15% over several weeks (or even months), then you may want to adjust the figures either way (10-20% or so).
I'm still a bit confused why the food focus BMR calculator came out so much higher. Was it definitely plain ol' BMR, not including any sort of activity multiplier?Eric_Pisch wrote: »a geek after my own heart :j
Now there's a compliment!0 -
Missy - where do I find the MSE Exercise and Fitness chat mentioned in your signature please?0

It is a very powerful one, it empties the water butt in 6 minutes, so now it has obviously solved the problem of how to water the back garden and now created a new one of how to keep it filled up:rotfl::rotfl:
That would be a problem as we had run out and all my seedlings were looking a little dry until we had the rain on thursday. I posted some picks of my growings on the Greenfinger forum on here if you want a look  https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2285979I finally signed up to Food focus now and looks very interesting - hopefully I'll keep on track.
If you eat out how do you record your meals on there (eating at a local pub)?
Figured out how to enter food etc - I think it's telling me too few calories if I want to lose 2lb a week, so am aiming for 1lb a week - but I think it's showing on a typical day I'm not eating enough. Will enter things for the next week or so and see if that continues - but will try to increase what I'm eating.
Good luck I have to admit food focus has been my rock and enabled me to do so well so far. I log every little thing even down to herbs and spices it drives my OH mad but so far it has made a big difference to my previous weight loss attempts.Your exercise should be included in your activity level before taking off the 15% especially if you're doing a lot, otherwise the 'cut' could be too severe and it could lead to metabolic slowdown and muscle loss (which makes further fat loss more difficult), and negatively impact your exercise performance. Not as far as I know, because when I add in my exercise each day it increases my calories telling me to eat more
From next week I am going to try what we calculated last night and go from there. My exercise should increase a little more as my fitness has improved a lot since January, and also I want to do more now in the evenings
I am off to visit my best friend tonight after work and I have not told her I have been loosing weight so it should fun to see what she says. I hope she can notice, as I don't see much difference apart from my trousers falling down :rotfl:
Victory - I will wave as I go past Portsmouth  and Brightonbelle - I will wave to you too
Hope you all have a great bank holiday weekend xRestarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed

Morning all
Sorry, not posting much at the moment but still keeping up with the thread. Hope you're all enjoying your weekend off - DH and I are both working but we get 2 days off in the week when the rest of you are at work, so that suits us fine!
I've lost my motivation to exercise, I think it's because I'm on my feet all day at work, and although it isn't particularly strenuous I just want to sit down when I'm finished. I should find a local swimming pool before I get completely unfit again.
At least the May Day holiday doesn't have all the dietary temptations that Easter had.
We're fortunate to have sunshine here this morning too - hope it's the same for everyone.

*sigh*
I ate 200g biscuits on top of my 1300 calories yesterday - not an appropriate action after a good gym session.
Rewarding exercise with inappropriate amounts of junk food is precisely why I have a stone to lose. I've taken the first step of admitting this stupid habit, and by being by posting here I hope to knock it on the head!
Climbing back on the wagon today, no point starving my self for the next 24 hours or I;ll just pig out again.
I have a long walk planned today to stretch out my legs after squatting in the gym.0
