Ebay Seller Problem

You obviously don't understand how paypal works. If he pays for it then opens a SNAD. He returns the item and will be refunded his money except the return postage
OPr he doesn't pay and gets a strike. It depends how important his ebay accoint is to the OP or if he has any strikes before as if he gets 2 he will be unable to but much off ebay
I'm starting to get a bit confused now.
My account is fairly important to me, I dont buy vast amounts of ebay, but I also have never had a strike against me yet.
I wouldn't mind paying as long as I was guarenteed a full refund.
The emails from seller are now fewer and less threatening in tone, probably because he's now opened the non-paying buyer dispute, and resigned to the outcome of that.
I'd rather not deny recieving it, what concerns me is if I pay for it open a dispute of item not as described then the seller denies he sent it in the condition its in. I don't want to be out of pocket and lumbered with this eyesore. The seller quite clearly was despertate to get it off his hands, hence posting it before payment and his refusal to take it back even when I offered to pay return postage.0 -
Now that the seller seems a bit mellower, is it worth asking him for his full address do you think? I would just return it to him. It's not worth all the worry that it's causing you. If you had paid, then he sent it, then you send it back for a refund, it would cost you the exact same amount that it's going to cost you to just return it and be rid of the whole problem. If an item is not as described, then Paypal require you to pay for the return postage anyway. You cannot get around that. If you pay with the assumption that paypal will refund you, it's just a more drawn out affair.
Let him put the strike on your account. Then contact eBay afterwards, they can be revoked on occasion.
I do hope you get it sorted - it's a right strange one this!0 -

That makes two of us confused...
As alfiesmum says, if you get a strike you can appeal to try and get it removed but to be honest one strike is going to have little (if any) affect on your account0 -

Although he's not so threatening he still refuses to provide full address and insists he's going to do me for fraud through ebay!
If I pay and open a SNAD, Ebay/paypal wont refund the original postage cost in listing, which was £14 plus my return postage which will be approx £8-£10, so even if I get a refund via paypal I'll still be £20- £24 out of pocket and have no Xbox.
I think I'm in a lose lose situation here.0 -

Definitely yes. All of your original payment will be refunded to you. Paypal buyer protection states this. Have a look through eBay or paypal buyer protection summary, just to reassure yourself.0

don't know whether you've paid or not, but think about this.
yes, you would get a strike for not paying, but the seller cannot leave negative feedback! as long as you have no other strikes it shouldn't really hurt you very much.
but, will you be stuck with this item that you don't want? it's not only an NPB but an NPB as well as the fact that he/she has sent you the item!
just out of interest, what is his feedback like?
good luck whatever you decide to do x
p.s. just out of interest, why was the original postage so much? weight?0
