You can buy a paste for the chicken rice dish as well that's good. This is the one I've used but most Oriental shops should sell some.

Hello, my kids like Uncle Bens micro golden vegetable rice, or the tesco frozen golden vegetable rice.. I was wondering if anyone knows how to make it as they are not keen on plain white rice..0

hi there!
I cook some some normal white rice, then after a couple of mins add a handful of frozen peas & sweetcorn, sometimes I add a stock cube, other times I dont bother! My kids love this & would eat it most nights given a choice! Hope that helps.X0 -
Like MrsJef says but add a bit of either turmeric or curry powder to colour the rice - you don't need much. Other good additions are cooked onions and mushrooms."Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0

I like to braise my rice in the oven
sweat down chopped onion in some butter
add the rice
then pour over chicken stock to cover and maybe 1cm over
add dried herbsif you like
braise in the oven
dont let it dry out (cover with foil if needed)
once it nearly done, add in peas, cooked veg or whatever
we often have it for a light and cheap dinner0 -
A handful from a bag of frozen 'basics' mixed veg is ideal as they're in tiny bits. Just a little shake of turmeric is enough, and won't flavour it as much as curry powder:)0
