You can make little rice cakes with cooked rice, an egg, some milk, flour & baking powder.
Also I have made fish (and other contents) pie with a rice and egg mixture as the bottom (& top). Grated cheese on top is nice too.

I am cooking a pork joint roast today.
I have a LOT of rice leftover from yesterday and was wondering if I could 'Do' something with it to include it in todays meal. Not rice pudding though.
I remember an old friends mother used to bake cooked rice with onion and sage& onion stuffing, when I was a child.
Does anyone know this or anything else I could make to go with the roast please?
I'm stuck.

Hi there,
Cooked rice can be the greatest cause of upset tummies if it isn't cooled very quickly and refrigerated. If it has been left around in a warm place for any length of time don't be tempted to use it as it can make you really ill.
Sorry if I'm lecturing - just speaking from experience!
I often fry it up with onion, scrambled egg, chiken or prawns if you have any and add a dash of soy sauce to eat.To do is to be. Rousseau

I love to make a rice salad like my mil makes. Steam small cubes of veg like carrots, peas, corn. Mix through the rice with cut up cherry tomatoes, lots of lemon juice and we love it with some grated parmesan through it too. We eat it either as a meal or as a side dish. Exceedingly yummy!
BTW: you must let the veg cool completely before you add to the rice. I prefer it made with hot rice and hot veg all mixed together and then eaten once cooled down, but it's fine with cold rice too.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Hi all, wondering if anyone can help.
My partner had a great recipe for Jamie Olivers Fragrant Rice on his iphone. Said Iphone got stolen at the swimming pool and I can't find the recipe on line anywhere. It was the best rice I have ever made and very cheap too!!! All I can remember is basmati rice, fried off in oil with various herbs and spices including a cinnamen stick and bay leaves.
Please does anybody have this on their iphone that they could copy me???
Or a really great tasting alternative????0
