does anyone use an apron when cleaning and cooking

I don't wear aprons but I really think I should start. I am a really mucky pup when cooking so this would really help me save my clothes. I used to have an 'oilskin' one years ago - for me they are no good. I am far too curvy for them to fit comfortably so they sadly don't seem and option. I definitely need a full apron not a waist one. My MIL has mainly waist ones and stays clean no matter what she does. TBH I don't think she really needs to wear one at all. Unlike myself, a natural dirty magnet.:oPut the kettle on.0

I'm another 'ought to'.
I have endless sweatshirts, jumpers and blouses decorated with bleach marks, tomato stains, grease splodges etc. Occasionally I think, "Oh. That's not too bad," and put something on, only to cringe when I catch sight of it in a different light, covered in stains.

I can be added to the list of people who dont wear an apron- or a pinnie, as I would call it- but ought to! I think I never got into the habit of wearing one because I associate it with old ladies like my grandma, who wore hers constantly in the house. However, nowadays I often think I should have one, especially when Im doing some rushed cooking or cleaning before I leave for work and end up getting stuff on my work clothes.
The same with rubber gloves. I know I should get into the habit of wearing them when Im washing up but I nearly always forget. No wonder my hands give my age away!0 -
I have 2 tabards I wear for housework & crafts and 2 nice retro pinnies for cooking.
Pretty pinnies are soooo dear and cotton is cheap enough and pinnies are good "starter" sewing project for a beginner like me. I found free patterns via advice on this forum so will be making some for gifts next Xmas.
The tabbards I got for running kids craft events, don't do them any more but the pockets are SO handy for house work. Bottle of stardrops and vinegar spray in one pocket and cloths in the other & I can whizz round a room.
I used to wear black tops for facepainting, looked smart as it matched my black table/chair/towels set up for corporate jobs - me, white blouses and kids is not a good combination lol!
I live in cargo trousers when not at work to save my nice clothes but spoilt one too many nice blouses when I was younger not to wear a pinny now I'm unable to work and on such a tight budget. My clothes have to last nowadays and I'm past caring re "image" ( an Autistic kid who "melts down" a lot in public does that to you lol!)0 -

Wear an oilskin CK one for cooking and fabric ones for cleaning (when I remember, or keep the CK one on but it's a bit harder to move in!)
I am few among my friends though, my mum never owned one, though my MIL wears hers daily.
My SIL owns lots but doesn't seem to wear them... or cook much!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

I have one for cooking and wear in case of splashes - things like pasta sauce/curry etc and I have one for cleaning to prevent any bleach getting on my clothes.
