My goodness, only just found this thread and Im amazed Im not the only one who has a thing for retro style aprons. I have a lovely Cath Kidston one and I got a nice cream with pink roses one on amazon but Id like more. Does anyone know a good site for buying them please - new, but 40/50s style, I want to wear them, not just collect.
Many thanks.0 -

I wear a blue striped butcher style apron for cleaning and have a selection for kitchen use - don't wear plastic aproms as find splashes just drip down and off onto floor.:A0

I always wear an apron now. I am a bit of a bleach fiend and ended up with bleach splashes on my clothes.

It is a bit of a double edged sword, I have found that when wearing cotton apron liquids just soak straight through and when wearing a plastic one liquids run off, you can't win. At the moment I use a plastic apron, for me I prefer to be able to just clean with a sponge rather than having to wash it then dry it.
I guess cotton ones are a bit are bit more comfortable to wear but to be honest I have got used to wearing a plastic one now.0 -
I personally hate washing so pvc / plastic aprons rule the way for me. I have a couple of old cotton ones somewhere but I never wear them. I don't find pvc aprons at all uncomfortable to wear, I am quite happy to wear mine all day if necessary. I always sponge it down after I take it off so that is nice and clean the next time I come to wear it.0

In my job it has to be a plastic apron, I am a hairdresser so chemicals such as hair dye, bleaches and perm lotions would just soak straight through a cotton apron and ruin my clothes underneath. I wear my apron all day everyday when I am at work, never feel uncomfortable in it though, infact I feel quite naked without it on0 -
I have noticed recently that my hairdresser tends to wear a plastic apron all the time now even when I just go in for a cut and blow. When I asked why she had her apron on she just said that she prefered wearing it all the time rather tahn taking it on and off 3 or 4 time a day0

I always wear an apron when cooking - wear a different one for cleaning - can't imagine life without them!#Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain #We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us #If you focus on what you have left behind, you will never see what lies ahead - Gusteau/RatatouilleGC 2022: £0/£2,500 total spend0
