i'm 29 and my mum made me one as part of my xmas present! ;D
it's ADORABLE! on one side it's pastel polka dots with a green ginham border, and a pink and green ribbon trim. the neck-strap and ties are also the same ribbon.
on the other side (it's reversible) it's green stripes with little pink roses inbetween the stripes, a strip of bright pink roses at the bottom and a heart on the front made from the same pink roses fabric. with a multi-coloured gingham trim.
she also made me a matching peg-bag!
i LOVE it! ;D0 -
I found an apron on ebay - I kept getting outbid on nice ones so I found an awful one and bid on that and surprise surprise, I was the only bidder and won it at 99p :rotfl:
It's made of oilcloth and has a garish lifeboat pattern all over it, it's hideous but I love it

Beki, your apron sounds lovely - how about a photo? And will your mum make one for me please??:D"Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

I got it too. I wondered if anyone else had received it. I forwarded mine to 'abuse' as, even though it seemed harmless, I don't think we want to encourage him

I've got grease on so many things that I now wear my apron all the time. And I always get a wet tummy doing the washing up so i wear my pvc coated cupcake apron for that. However, the pvc has started going wrinkly and when I'm having a break and a cuppa I just cant resist peeling it off.:o So now it's half coated and half not. Just have to stand sideways to wash up:rotfl:Wooligans member 2010 - 6 animal blankets. 2 angel wraps, 2 baby hat, 4 Aaron squares, 5 cardigans

I love my aprons as I am a VERY messy cook! I have a PVC one for cleaning (Its a Douglas Lurpack butter one!) and I have a Jamie Oliver cotton one that is so generous in size, it wraps around my *ahem* rather large frame
.
But I fancy having a go at making my own, I picked up a free leaflet in Hobbycraft with basic instructions for making a full apron and half pinny. They had some "Hungry Caterpillar" fabric too, so I am going to try and make me and DD matching aprons (If I start now, it may be finished for when she starts school :rotfl:)Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

I have a very old apron that DH got as a freebie promotional thing at work years ago before we had children! I have made aprons for my Mum, Dad, several friends & DH a decorating apron so I think it's about time I made myself one lol! I used my tatty old one as a pattern for the others so I know that they all fit nicely.
I'll report back if I ever get round to it.
Hope that the PM fiend has stopped now for everyone too.A G&T a day keeps the doctor away
