I've wanted an apron for ages but never seem to have suitable fabric for making one, so I'm bidding for one now on ebay.
Trouble is, it's not down my front that I usually make a mess. I always end up with flour/batter/dough on my sleeves, and if I ever cook with golden syrup it always, without exception, ends up in my hair. The latter might be caused by me licking the spoon though0 -
I just find "pinny" to be very feminine. Or is that just me?
Yeah! It's just you! LOL!! :rotfl::rotfl:
Isn't "pinny" just a derivative of "apron" anyway?Though I agree that "apron" does sound more macho and workmanlike

pinafore, surely?
Hmmm! You're right! Hadn't thought of that  :rotfl: - but seriously, surely it's a case of "what's in a name?". If you feel more comfortable wearing an "apron" rather than a "pinny" then that is what you should refer to it as. Incidentally, I always call mine an "apron" too . Doesn't really matter to me, at the end of the day, as long as it keeps stuff off my clothes :rolleyes2.
And before we go way off topic and get moved to Disussion Time :shhh: - I have found an old denim skirt (long/full/button through) and was thinking of turning it into a bib apron. Has anyone got any links to similar tutorials. Thanks"Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

I just won an apron on ebay for 99p! It's got pictures of lifeboats on it and is extremely tacky - perhaps I can get away with calling it kitsch :rotfl:
Frugalista - is this tutorial any use to you?0 -
Has anyone else on here received a strange pm about wearing an apron, or was I the only lucky recipient?
