i do wear an apron when i'm baking or cooking something messy (when i remember) as i'm a messy pup and end up splashing and spilling stuff all over me!

    She looks adorable!

My partner finds pinnies a bit of a turn on.;)

She is adorable jinny....& about 5' 11", so that pinny is larger than you think.
I find I don't have 'fall out' problems if the bib is wide enough & has back straps.

Ahh, so Kathleenryd & I are not the only ones 'troubled' by a marauding male who finds a pinny 'beguiling'.:D
My man likes paradoxes, & the lowliest piece of women's clothing covers her 'important bits' discreetly, but still leaves them 'easily accessible'.............he says/thinks:rolleyes:
I can see what he means, it's far less contrived than a bra & panties -- (am I still on a 'money saving' topic here??:o ) -- but there are times when it is so hot in Portugal that all I have on top of underwear is a wraparound pinny.. (less laundry, hence 'money saving';) ). So apart from having a large wooden spoon at the ready, how do I get the message across that I am merely cooking, I'm not interested, I'm in charge in the kitchen, & safety is paramount??!!!
...... Then we open a bottle & err................... oh dear, I'd better stop:o
  • I bought an apron in Tesco a while back (my first ever apron) - got it home and discovered it was HUGE - it's long on DH who is 6'2 and would go over a belly three times the size of mine. And mine isn't small alas!

Anyone recommend somewhere to buy an apron that might actually fit, preferably a plain colour and not patterned or frilled?
  • I wear ordinary wellies.

Thanks for your time, here. None of them are plastic, though, apart from the first one, which isn't very well described

Hi Belfastgirl. Why not trim each side down? --

It makes a change for bought one to be big enough, let alone too big.

I'm just assuming it isn't so long that you trip over it?;)

It strikes me, reading this thread, that many of us prefer to wear an apron (or pinny if you like) at home but its actually really quite difficult to get them, at least how we want them. With how popular a pasttime (and necessity) food preperation is, I'm really quite surprised at this.

I've looked for hours on the web for apron patterns suitable for an ample figure. I have a one I wear but not really comfortable. If anyone can help I would be grateful. Mind as mentioned on earlier post, wearing it gets me unwanted attention from a certain male lurking around kitchen and have to defend me honour with a handy rolling pin!
