I cant believe what has happened today we are in talks with the CAB and the local council to try and house the family after the repossesion . im really between a rock and a hard place in that i cant afford my mortgage so wouldnt be able to afford a private rented house which would be the same as a mortgage in my local area . My local council has an 8 year waiting list on the housing register

The benfits wont help us because my gross pay is too high my wife cant go into full time employment because we dont get help with child care its £800pcm where we live for the bottom of the barrel nursery.

So the advice i have been offered today from the local authoritys is give up my job and go on benefits so that they can help us .

if i thought it would help my cause with the CSA i would do it tomorrow only problem is they are going to say i have given up my job to evade paying them and slap an LO on me. That would just complicate things even more

lol one government body telling me to pack up work and the other saying if you do we will stick you in prison aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh

I think the best phrase to describe my situation is UP S.H.I. CREEK WITH NO F......ING PADDLE

I feel for you. Had I not been forced into a situation where I have now had to deal with the CSA then I would not have believed your situation but as well as having dealt with some helpful CSA staff I have also been disgusted by the actions of others. I would have hoped there was more your MP could do as you appear to have he/she on side fighting your corner. Keep with it.

We have to remember who it was that invented the csa in the first place, although MP's appear to be helping all they honestly do is forward your information to the apropriate offices within the csa there isnt really much advice on hand only what the CSA sudgest to them as the best way forward . It was the CSA that recommended i take the case to tribunal but when i did they tried to force the tribunal into throwing it out as an out of time appeal. had i not studied the social security and child benefit act i would of given up.

Just shows that the csa dont stand up for what they are suppose to be about....taking children out of poverty and yet putting other children in poverty???

Even if an NRP did owe arrears the csa should not be allowed to take the home from NRP other children.

Im my outlook the only PWC who are in poverty are the ones who cannot go to work due to their children being young, they only live on benefits and any monies from nrp they can only keep a measly £20.00 and the SOS gets the rest....what for?? Is that to use towards the benefit that the ex is getting. What is all that about eg: NRP pays CSA £350 a month the PWC is on benefits and only allowed £20 a wk/mnth and the rest goes to the SOS.

Steve40 I wish you all the luck you deserve and hope you get from this what you and your familys are entitled to.....Justice!!!

The csa have got it all wrong they seriously need to go back to the drawing board.

    .

But the other side of the coin is that had the NRP paid the liability in the first place then there would be no arrears, and why should one set of children be discrinated against in favour of the others? As an NRP, usually you are aware that you have children to support, so you should put steps in place to ensure that you do that. If you choose to ignore that and then build up arrears both morally and legally you should be paying them back, the PWC has still had to feed and clothe those children.

As for the benefits issue - why should all the taxpayers bring up your children because you dont want to? I have no issue in ensuring that children are kept out of poverty but when the NRP doesnt want to pay for their children but expect everyone else to do so then I get a bit cross!

I don't see how the Government or anyone else can state that CMEC is reducing child poverty when the household income, of where the child resides, before and after child maintenance is no longer measured. The Government is simply throwing money at a statistic and claiming glory.

It currently costs the taxpayer more than 50% of every penny collected by CMEC to go to benefiting children. The taxpayer will always lose but politically CMEC gives an image that the Government are actively making absent parents financially responsible as well as putting money in the hands of deserving children.
