I know there have been some ideas for something we could all do together - I like the ideas I have seen so far. I have a little inkling of one too, very like the others, really, but probably easier to set up.

It would need a basic webpage, with a list of topics areas to help people who are starting out to make money, instead of all of the pages / topics being in the webpage (and therefore quite a big site having to be updated / maintained by one or two people).

These could be individual blogs set up by each of us to cover the topic areas and we could maintain our own blog / answer questions asked by people posting within our blogs, etc. Each dribble blogger could contribute a paragraph regularly to the main site, containing news headlines for that topic area.

I am rambling, but to recap what I mean:

A basic website with links to topics about money making (needs a good name)
These links go to individual blogs set up specially for the purpose
Each of us creates one or two (?) blogs + maintains them / answers questions
Selected ads on main site / ads on individual blogs / offer free downloads of information, etc?

A bit like a website hub with blogs leading from it.

    If this is gibberish, apologies.

Not gibberish, but I personally wouldn't want to spend time (for free) trying to help other people make money. I don't mind helping Dribblers, but my priority has to be making money for myself, rather than the world at large. Can't be too altruistic, I don't have time. Sorry if this sounds grumpy or that I'm shooting down your idea, anyone can build another website if they want to. The Dribblers site I'm working on is solely for our benefit.

Know what you mean Amber, but I wasn't really thinking about doing it for nothing. We are not a charity, lol.

I was thinking of ad revenue as an income from the site and the individual blogs - also it would be a way to build traffic for our own sites.

I have the six pack of Arnold Schwarzenegger just between the running man epoch and true lies era. Do you know why from laughing so much at this thread...
    Crack Merkin!!!!! lol
I can imagine some urine soaked street corner in a dodgy part of London. A grim, scarfaced, gap tooth man saunters over - opens his coat and it is lined with filled with diamante and crack coated merkins and he would whisper 'Wanna crack merkin, dear?'

    Back again.
The meeting is over and I have a headache, my right eye is practically closed with the pain. can't take anything for it becasue I have to wait for my amitryptyline tonight.
What's the crack with this taskslayers thing, girls only club???
I've been thinking about my idea and also what others have suggested but now I'm thinking isn't that what Martin does anyway with this site, ways to save and make money with hints tips, factsheets, forum etc so I'm a bit down in the dumps with it all.
My first ebay items ends tonight though, yay, still only a couple of quid but it will all help.
The meeting was really productive, I kept asking questions and at the end loads of people thanked me for the contributions. Well, Shy bairns get nowt as they say up here. I've emailed constructive but positive feedback to a few of the presenters, no shame in a bit of networking if these are going to be the ones to watch in the near future, might as well make sure they know me.

I think there might be a small overlap but Martins website is all about moneysaving - getting value for money etc whilst I thought you (Paul etc) were talking about creating a successful small business.

Amber - is the site you are building purely aimed at promoting our businesses or do you see it being more encompassing? I really feel we all have a fantastic opportunity here to build and use each others skills and if we work together we could achieve something but if we aren't careful we will have too many ideas and all pull in oppostie directions. Or we create a couple of different ideas and still help each other but choose which one we concentrate on? Am I making any sense?

I'll try and explain, if I am looking at from 'how can I benefit' perspective:

Amber if you see your website as promotional for all the crafty types (which I thought was your original plan) then I can willingly help with the pr BUT I don't have any crafts to sell so I am not sure I would personally gain (unless I start charging you ).

But Cagnes idea I can see a way for me to make money - I can also see that Ambers site could be used as an outlet for selling Cagnes idea. I am concerned a little as to who would benefit from onsite advertising, sites where only one person can sell etc, and can see that we all need alot of trust in each other for Cagnes idea, but I can see potential, I can also see that Paulas idea could run hand in hand....... and I can see how I could contribute to that. Phew I am even more confused.

On top of that I have an idea for a website/forum too but that is a whole other issue!!

I wonder if we almost need an umbrella website with other linking off it...... flip this is getting complicated!!

I'm off for a cup of tea and another look at Mabels release as I have had a new idea for that too!

Saucy will reply when I get a chance to think - not ignoring you!

Oh and good news for me, a company I thought had forgotten me emailed yesterday asking for a press release...so another job for next week, not worth much as I under charge but better than nothing!!
Life is a work in progress

Crack merkins?! Oh good grief lmao
  • Ehh, slept well last night cuz OH stayed up all night and looked after me, so I think I'd be a lot better. Stressing though, cuz I've gotta go get a desk in a bit (OH bought it for me specially so I'd feel ungrateful if I don't) and then there's the Villa game in the rain...but you guys are keeping me cheerful, so I'm okay. Thank you for asking :)

Nix, whenever you've got time is fine :) Thank you so much.

Has it just gone dark everywhere else too? I swear a few seconds ago it was lovely and light!
