Just a flying one before I go and get some fish and chips (yes I am cheating, takeaway!)
Cagne - You are our trophy male! We would never leave you behind! Well done on the meetings btw, sounds like you impressed and kicked butt!
btw, your idea IS great, its not so much about large scale stuff like martin, but more on a personal, everyday level, as in big or small ideas anyone can do it, look at us!turn £100 into £10000 in 2010 member #16 £567.68/£10,000 -I'm a wiggly worm, I'm a wiggly worm, how do you do, I love you, I'm wiggly worm!0 -
Mabel, as I am seeing the Mexican later, I should have your book listed tonight. Finally! I'll add a discount to your customer account for it taking so long.
Once this lot of tramadol has kicked in I'll explain his adventure looking for lace...god it was funny. I don't know how I'll look at him with a straight face tonight...Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
Know what you mean Amber, but I wasn't really thinking about doing it for nothing. We are not a charity, lol.
I was thinking of ad revenue as an income from the site and the individual blogs - also it would be a way to build traffic for our own sites.
xx
Well the more the merrier - if it can be made to work for us then go for it! I think it'll need to be sufficiently different from my Dribblers site though, so we don't repeat ourselves too much. Mine is aimed at being a fairly simple site, listing all Dribblers sites, the story of how we all came together ... so we can all be found in one place and the links are there for further information.0 -

Nixi - an umbrella website makes a lot of sense TBH and congrats on the press release x
Saucy - the sun is still shining in London town at the mo
I have been a very naughty girl today, I should have started this report document and I have been skiving all the day long. I am probably going to pull a coffee induced all nighter. But, I really can't be asked right now...10K 2010 challenge £3202.59/£10000

ooo - Amber - I know I don't have anything crafty but I have an idea for writers/aspiring authors, that in itself is a craft so could that have a link/page (not sure how you are planning your site) or are you focussing on tangible products? - assuming I follow it through of course!!?
Dilli - you obviously aren't in the right frame of mind to do the report so it wouldn't have been any good anyway, so best to do it when you are!!Life is a work in progress0 -
Amber, it looks like me and OH are coming to live with you...we still haven't found anywhere to live, and I've just had confirmation that the uni will sort out my fees but I've definitely got a place, I start in September...
Got a comfy sofa yet?! :rotfl:Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
Saucy-I dont want a discount hun-I just want the story of the mexican looking for underwear when you are ready to tell it and I hope you feel better later :-)
Look forward to seeing the book but dont worry if you cant get it on site tonight, you might not feel like it after the footie.0 -
I have no idea what cagne was suggesting, and I think I have lost the way with what Amber was planning.
However, I love the idea of a virtual village, with shops where consumers can click on the house and see the items for sale. Very fun and modern. A virtual world that could be expanded and developed.
I dont personally agree with the dribblers only bit. Easy for me to say cos I wont be doing the web development ! But we were all strangers when this started, we grew together, worked together, helped and supported each other. I like the idea of there being undiscovered dribblers out there who could benefit from a community spirit who could then develop their own business and then in turn promote ours to their family, facebook, bebo friends etc..
I see myself as fortunate to have discovered MSE - there are thousands of people like us who havent been that fortunate.
Does that make sense or am I a sentimental old fool?VR repayment £404 £156.02 PAID

Woohoo - fantastic news Saucy!
MMTWGR - whilst I agree with you I also struggle with the idea that someone could read the thread the day the website is launched and straight away have a home/shop! Also the logistics limnits that approach. Does that make any sense? (Though I am more thinking anybody that lurks nd then just takes an idea rather than anyone who joins in and posts - to me even once a month is regular!!)
I think we possibly need to start with our 'village' and all the regulars, that want a home/shop, have a 'home/shop', then newcomers can apply for a home/shop - this is where it starts getting messy and we also need to be careful that everything is complimentary - difficult to sell merkins and sock pets in the same site!Life is a work in progress0
