I beg to differ... I think you would command far better conversation with people if you didnt belittle and put people down ie to refer to my comment as daft??

Perhaps you have not heard of TopTable.. OpenTable etc where there are thousand upon thoussands of positive reviews about restaurants.

When i daftly referred to my nan, what i was actually saying was; if she experienced an upleasent meal in a restaurant she would not know to come on MSE to moan about it. in fact off the top my head I can think of various amily members that wouldnt or couldnt.. therefore if someone can they should be entitled to!

The Op has come on here to ask advice re there consumer rights in complaining and you have wrongly told them that this is not thr right place???

So pray tell me what the consumer rights section is for???

    Couple of things.

Firstly, saying that your nan wouldn't complain is rather subjective, don't you think????

Lots of positive reviews about anything does not change the fundamental point that people are more likely to complain than praise. Take a look at the vent (and praise) board...

You state that I "have wrongly told them that this is not thr right place???". No I didn't, so don't make things up.

Finally, in this case, OP has no "consumer rights".

I think the response to the complaint letter might be interesting.

I have to say that given everything that has been described I personally would have left when the orders came out wrong

I agree. The strangest thing about this situation is that the OP and family sat there with things apparently going from bad to worse.

I would have voted with my feet.

There was a praise board but it went due to lack of use and got combined with the vent one!
  • Because it is the OP's unsubstantiated word. Are you Chief Constable of the Restaurant Police?

There are ways of complaining. This is not one.

Urrrmmmmm not to sure what you think im making up, or did you forget this post??

    :rotfl:

My nan was an example, get over it. i do not see being subjective as crime

So lots of positive reviews doesnt change anything but a few negative do?

Like I said check out toptable, open table and trip advisor, 1000s of reviews..

A person had paid for a service and that service has not been met, of course the consumer has a right??????
  • I had a meal out on Sunday and found a hair in the middle of my food. I sent it back and the manager came out and his first comment was "what colour was it" urghhh.

My meal was refunded as was the people I was dining with. As a mother I cook day in day out and the idea of the meal was that we could sit and eat together. Even if they had knocked up another meal I would have been eating alone.. this was not what i was paying for.

I would have accepted nothing less than a full refund and dealt with it there and then, rather than carry on with the meal and deal with it another day via letter

If you can't, then you and the OP must have a similar IQ.
Since when has an adult been a child?

Since when has it made a difference whether it is a child or an adult eating a meal????

Some children (mine included) dont want to eat chicken nuggets and chips, believe it or not!

My comment that this is not an appropriate way of complaining was the attack - by means of Google - on the business without them having provided their view of the sitution. In my view - repeated several times - that is a bit childish and grossly unfair.

Fantastic bit of quoting out of context. Are you a Daily Mail journo?
