I'm sorry to hear about your experience OP. What a horrible way to be treated. If I'm ever in that particular neck of the woods, I certainly won't be eating at the Waggon and Horses Westhoughton0

i've read 9 different reviews of the place:
5 very negative ones
and 4 very positive ones
of the 5 negative ones, 4 of them specifically mention the poor service they received.
advice to pub - improve service.
advice to diners - shop around!0 -
Woops pressed the thank button instead of quote. I thought the place was in Bolton?
Westhoughton, even though it has a wigan postcode, is actually a part of Bolton.:DWow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted
I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p

got a visit from the 'manager' who informed me i would have to pay for the other 'free' mal as they were not intended for under 10 yr olds.
You tried to get a freebie and was rumbled. As a family spent about £100 plus drinks for 8 adults and 4 children.
Did you get knives and forks?0 -
Which to be fair, in these 'cheap and cheerful' hellholes, is clearly stated.
You tried to get a freebie and was rumbled.
For 12 people, that must be the cheapest meal on the planet.
Did you get knives and forks?
There's no excuse for such a low level of service even in cheaper places - OK you wouldn't expect silver service but not getting basic things right is unacceptable and I'm sure the management would agree.
Just because it was a cheap meal doesn't make the OP's complaint any less valid.0 -

No but perhaps the OP could actually get back on here after a response to his/her complaint letter has been received.0 -

Still think it is totally inappropriate.
Completely agree. Often 2 for 1 offers have a specific selection, for all we know the op may have tried to order something for the child outside of this and kicked up a fuss when it wasn't included then managed to snowball everything else.0 -
You'll probably get vouchers for further meals at the place.0
