this has really cheered me up today actually.

Very very easy for a guy to 'donate' sperm - but the process for a woman of donating an egg is akin to going through IVF!

I can just see me now lying there in theatre, drugged out of my eyes, legs akimbo thinking 'this should chip a little bit off the CC!' :rotfl:

At the risk of being serious for a moment, I think anyone thinking about donating eggs/sperm should look at the very serious moral implications.

A group of medical students who used Harley Street fertility clinics as a "w*nk bank" (their words) to pay their way through med school in the 1970s now find themselves beset by unhappy adults desperately trying to find their biological fathers. I believe a recent change in the law has made it easier for children of donor fathers to trace their real dads.

By donating sperm, there is a strong likehood you will become a father. In my view you need to consider it as carefully as if you were going to become a parent the -ahem- more "usual" way.
