How dare you be serious !
Don't you know you're supposed to make puerile attempts at humour !!Obay, do you realise that when any offspring resulting from your donation reaches the age of 18 they will be able to know who you are and seek you out?
I'd have no problem with that personally. And they will use your sperm to produce 10 children.
Or that.Imagine 19/20 years from now, you're settled down, married with children of your own and you start getting all these strangers knocking on your door wanting to meet their "biological" dad? Imagine the horror of discovering one of your children is dating one of your "other" children EEK!
See that would never be an issue with me because I know that I won't be settling down with anyone. No one can go into something like this for the money, thats just wrong.
I'd do it for the money quite happily. If a childless couple ultimately benefited from that decision then all the better.
All that aside, I was under the impression that you could only offer travel expenses for sperm donation in this country anyway ?
*edit*
And that's right - i've just read the PDF and you don't actually get paid for doing it. You can claim expenses incurred on the day - childcare, trave e.t.c.. and also loss of earning up to a maximum of £250 quid.
If they actually did pay £250 quid for doing it, i'd do it in a heartbeat.0 -
There is an upper age limit for men of 30-35 I recall from a newspaper article.
Unfortunately I am now too old or I might have tried it.
Might as well get paid for your hobby!!!0 -
Okay, I know the disadvantages.. but it was a suggestion.. again just to 'W*nk' in a jar.[STRIKE]1/12/16 - £152,599.00 [/STRIKE]

No one can go into something like this for the money, thats just wrong. If anyone even fleetingly considers this, do it for the right reasons, do it because you want to help a childless couple somewhere. Be proud of it and tell everyone that will be affected by it, that means any future partners whom you may eventually settle down with. The repercussions of doing this are huge.
No one should look at their sperm/eggs as a commodity. You are giving the gift of life, the most precious gift anyone could ever give and not everyone has that gift bestowed upon them for whatever reason.
Poo
What a load of twaddle, even if you do it "for the right reasons" all the above will still happen.
if you donate sperm, either for money or "the right reasons" the result is the same. Loads of little you's come looking for you in 18 years time.
The law doesn't say that if your dad had a w*nk for money you can find out who he is, but if he had a w*nk for "the right reasons" you can't.0 -
Can I just say that I had "the snip" years ago.
So if any ladies want a free donation, I can guarantee my donation will come out the same size as it went in.
There will be none of that going in half a gram and coming out nine months later 8lb 6oz.0 -

The web site gives an age limit of 40 for men, and says that some clinics accept donations from men over 40.0 -

I guess that the poster you are quoting is implying that some people wouldn't mind several "little yous" coming to find them in 18 years time. Some people might actually like the idea.0 -

Time to get the vasectomy reversed methinks!:rotfl:0

I know it sounds funny, however wouldn't you like an extra £250 in your pocket just to do something easy like that?
I'll assume you have never looked into how women donate eggs. I can safely assure you that it is not an easy £250 and that it can not be done just by women pleasuring themselves!
Also, something like this should not be done for money. There are couples all over the world who would do anything for someone to donate their eggs or sperm to them. I hope you never become one.0
