my hubby said to me that he has noticed a slight difference like slightly out of focus on some channels, im sorry but im not sure why be good to know tho.

Did a bit of research and it looks like it's a common complaint about the HD boxes over Sky+ boxes. Considering SD picture is the main picture I will be watching.:(

It is definitely not as good as my Sky+ box which was confirmed for me when I saw ther advert for SkyHD, on the SD channel. On my old box it used to be crystal clear with the slow motion shot of the bear catching the fish and the football player sliding. On this it was more 'blurry' and degraded.

I wonder if Sky have done it on purpose to make the HD look even better.

I think it's worth remembering that some of the suggested actions in this thread could be classed as deception which is a criminal offence. Obtaining goods by deception is illegal and I would think very carefully before using some of the tactics posted here.

Other than that, good luck with trying to negotiate a deal with Sky.

Sky's behaviour isn't above reproach. There IS an offer to be had but they seem to randomly deny or confirm it. What's all that about ?

Got mine installed today, All good apart from one thing.

The Standard Definiton picture is not as good as my Sky+ box. It's not as sharp as my previous box even to say seems abit blurry. Some of the worst channels on my previous box seem really bad on this.

    Anyone else noticed/had this?

Mine was installed yesterday, a Samsung box. I'm a new subscriber and the first thing I noticed was that the SD isn't as good as my Humax PVR or the DVB signal on the TV via terrestrial.

Is there anything we can do about this?
