I'm not a lawyer but suffice to say I'm qualified to have an opinion on this.
Telling lies to induce a company to provide goods and services free of charge (i.e. saying they've offered you this deal) is deception. You can take or leave what I'm saying I just think people need to know what they are doing before they do it.
Like I say, good luck in getting your deal from Sky.0 -
I'm really annoyed by all of this. Unlike many who have lied about getting a phone call, I actually DID get a call with the offer. Unfortunately, I was looking after my baby boy so wasn't able to discuss much with the advisor - he basically offered the free box, install and 12 months subs as soon as I answered the call, but my son was crying so I had to say I couldn't talk.
When I called back this morning, I was made to feel like I had made the whole thing up! Was told that the "outbound sales" didn't leave any record of the call, so they were immediately suspicious - even though I was able to recall the exact details of the short conversation (i.e. how the advisor begun by telling me how I'd get "double the storage space of my existing Sky+ box", etc...). I was so disappointed with the attitude/service, I have now cancelled my whole package.
Thanks to all those trying to get this deal when they weren't eligible for it, it's ruined it for those like me who were genuinely entitled to the offer. :mad:0 -
Sky have really messed up on this offer & they have annoyed a lot of longstanding loyal customers.
I myself have been with sky for about 17 years and have been an early adopter of the upgrades (e.g. digital and sky + but not HD) and I can't remember ever getting an offer.0 -

So you think that it is fair that Sky have rang you offering the deal and yet they have not rang somebody who has had the full package for 17 years with no offers. Think you should be venting your anger at Sky rather than existing Sky customers who just want to be treated the same as other existing Sky customers..0 -
Since you got the call can you not go through to a manager, and demand the offer (nicely of course)?0

How did it ruin it for "those like you" exactly?TESCO EVERY LITTLE change to the t&cs HELPS0 -
well, I played the honesty card and after declining I emailed one of the top bods who fasttracked my complaint through.
They have offered me HD and 12 months free on the provisio that I commit to 12 months after that and they have reduced my broadband connect from £17 a month to £10 on a 12 month sub.
I am checking the position if I move house but I wonder if everyone's free 12 months comes with a 12 month further contract they don;t know about as to be honest there is little in it for sky otherwise.
p.s. no deception involved.0 -

What was the email address? Did you just say that youy werent happy that other customers have been offered this deal but you haven't?0 -
It is SKY you should be angry with not users on here. The only deception is SKY's who should offer the same deal to ALL customers. Maybe try ringing sky again and maybe look up organisational courseshorsepills wrote: »I'm really annoyed by all of this. (joke, or course)
Keep trying until you get a sky operator who isn't a plonker. Good Luck0 -
Got mine installed this morning, lovely new box, is much better than the other. I asked the man about sending the signal to other room he told me I need another box/multiroom - however I have since found out i can buy splitter/amp n feed it into another room as long as i watch same channel - magicSIMPLES!0
