Sky's behaviour isn't above reproach. There IS an offer to be had but they seem to randomly deny or confirm it. What's all that about ?

I agree. Sky's approach is somewhat 'random' with these deals.
  • I wonder if Sky have done it on purpose to make the HD look even better.

Almost certainly, so nobody ever wants to go back to non HD. It would seem a bit like going back to a car without power steering. I'll be happy to keep my low cost high quality Sky+ thank you very much and if that busts I'll get another from eBay.

Did a bit of research and it looks like it's a common complaint about the HD boxes over Sky+ boxes. Considering SD picture is the main picture I will be watching.:(

It is definitely not as good as my Sky+ box which was confirmed for me when I saw ther advert for SkyHD, on the SD channel. On my old box it used to be crystal clear with the slow motion shot of the bear catching the fish and the football player sliding. On this it was more 'blurry' and degraded.

I wonder if Sky have done it on purpose to make the HD look even better.
mine is ok to me it is a VERY slight blurr every once in a while. think ours is a samsung
have now given up smoking since feb 13th 2014 loving the money I'm saving

Hi, mines being installed tomorrow..I did phone sky to ask about this, but got nowhere...
Our sony plasma is not "hd ready" but can be connected via component. ((i am sure somebody will know what that means ).
Can anybody tell me if the engineer will be able to sort this out for me and if the hd box will have the output connector?

I do have a another TV I can use upstairs which is hd ready, but it is on a wall at the moment ;)

don'tknow if this is of any use to someone but got sent a voucher from sky to give to a friend butmust be used by 31st march.

It says Free Sky+ HD Box with free standard set-up plus the HD pack free for 3 months.
small print says for existing sky tv customers upgrading to Sky+HD for a year.

there is a telephone number and a code to quote.

I have 3 vouchers but offering other two to family will come back later if they don't want them.
I would love this if it's still available, my sky+ box gave up the ghost today!

    Please let me know.

    Thanks
