Sorry about your bad morning Hypno. Definitely their loss, bet you're loads better than the person who got the job too! When you call about it, perhaps they'll feel they should give you some extras to make up for it - especially if you say how embarrassed you were, and the time you'd put into prep etc. In fact now I think of it, I think they should pay you anyway!
Hope the rest of your day is good, and thinking of you

oh Hypno, thats just !!!!.
I'm sorry you had that horrible experience.
El-so sorry about your burglary as well. Material items can be replaced but the sense of violation is worse I imagine.
((hugs)) all round today.

Oh sorry to hear about the c*ck-up this morning, you didn't deserve that! Hope the rest of the day turns out good and you have fun shopping with DD. Well, I managed to get what DD needed using boots points, so no cash was spent, which made it a justifiable reason to get a coffee while we were out, then went to see a friend on the way home - the friend I have my girly week skiing with, and we have decided to both take our respective children (she is divorced too) away for Christmas week instead....so we have set a task of finding a good deal for Christmas this evening. There are lots of "earlybird" offers on at the mo, so we can do it on a reasonable budget.
And of course I am more than used to saving up for ski trips, so I can SO DO THIS!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Sorry to hear about the foul up with the teaching session, Hypno - perhaps you might not feel inclined to help them out the next time they want a teacher at short notice? Look on the bright side, though - if you had done the teaching session as planned, then you might not have met up with your friend and come up with the brilliant idea of going away for Christmas! It's true what they say - one door closes, another opens, or everything happens for a reason, or every cloud has a silver lining.....insert your own cliche as desired! One life - your life - live it!0

Good idea to save for a break especially for Christmas which is bound to be a bit difficult this year so a good idea to do something different :A

Yes, I have to admit that getting away from it all at Christmas would be just what I need. It doesn't actually cost much more than we had budgetted before (not that we have the money there at the mo but we have mentally budgetted) for me to go away for a cheap girls week before Christmas, and then to go with the children for another cheap week later in the season.
This way, we can actually get somewhere a little more luxurious than our usual basic box, and it would be a real treat.
It would also suffice as my 40th birthday getaway, albeit 6 weeks after my birthday.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
A get-away for Christmas sounds a perfect way to finish a not so perfect (so far anyway - always time for improvement though) year.
I've used a similar saying myself many times - 'I know I can cope with the !!!! life throws at me - but can I stop proving it now - PLEASE' - but onwards and upwards - you have made a good step forward booking the holiday.
It sounds as if the 'other' teacher hadn't confirmed that she/he would attend - in her mind she was doing it - but the powers that be thought she wouldn't attend so they phoned you. You would think by seeing YOUR name on the literature and computer the other person would have had the grace to leave and take up her complaint later. In the words of Paddy and Peter Kay 'HOW DARE SHE' upset our Hypno - does she realise she may have to face many irate MSE forum users!!!!
Have a restful day tomorrow if you can - you need to give yourself a bit more time Mrs - this emotional stuff is all pretty tiring and has a nasty habit of catching you when you are least prepared for it - as you well know.
Take care of yourselves and hope the colds don't get too much of a hold either.
Sounds like you had a good afternoon with dd.
