    Thanks guys, i've just used the cats fishing rod toy, which hasn't amused the cat.

    However, i don't think it was quite long enough so i'm going to go and seek out a toilet plunger because it's getting a bit daft now!

    I think the issue is in a rather irritatingly difficult area to get to!

    I had this happen to our upstairs loo awhile back, what worked for me is I put a load of hot water and some liquid soap and left it for a couple of hours then got my old mop and plunged it up and down the pan and that seems to do the trick. Hope you manage to get it sorted.

    Bought a Plunger from B&Q and low and behold a few pumps and all was well with it again - hurrrah!!

    I'm SOOOOOOOO relieved and moderately proud i managed to fix it myself, with your advice!
