Urgent - toilet issue!

Hey Folks,
Went to the loo, then flushed it.
Basically, i think it's blocked with bog roll, although i'm not entirely sure.
It flushed, then filled up to the top with water, then slowly drained away leaving remaining loo roll!
So i thought fair one, flushed it again, but it just did the same.
My parents' toilet used to do this and i think Dad put anotha bucket of water down, but before i try this i thought i'd ask for some advice!!
What shall i do?!

Get a rubber glove , and 'fish' the bog roll out.0

It sounds as tho there is an obstruction. You can clear it with a mop (an old style mop - the one with all the string bits on it - the one that looks like a judges wig) use this as you would a plunger in a sink. This usually does the trick.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Ps , your dad had the right idea , if you cant find some gloves!!0

Chuck a bucket of water down in one go as that should give it enough oomph to clear it if it's toilet roll. Any chance of it being anything else, try & remove it first.0

Too much information!
If it won't flush, try caustic soda (buy it from B&Q) pour a lot down the pan, leave an hour then flush. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0 -
one of these can be handy. cost a few quid.
the pound shop sell em too.Get some gorm.0 -
Another vote for bucket of water as long as it's just the usual waste.
Don't try this if someone has been flushing sanitary waste (period stuff)
If it's sanitary waste, get your gloves on!Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Fill the pan with boiling water and leave it for a while as this can often soften the stuff which is causing the blockage. Top the pan up as far as possible so as to get maximum pressure on the blockage
If there is any other basin or sink or WC connection on this run then fill the basin/sink or flush the other WC as this can also pull on the blockage0 -
