Yesterday was very tiresome and I had some tedious family matters to deal with, which I could of done without. Not a NS day as I 'needed' to get some wine! But I did take sarnies to work and finally my DH has got the MSE bug. He used the left over pizzas etc from Sunday night to make tea last night :T I was amazed as normally they would be in the bin before I'd get home from work. Pizza is so much nicer the next day.

No de-cluttering done at all as I ran out of time. But I have been knocking a little bit extra off the debt each day so we are getting there slowly :)
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

Know that feeling of 'needing' wine after sorting family matters! Glad DH is getting into the MSE way - little steps eh!

Well done on clearing the debts, little by little, day by day....it all helps.

I finally went walking tonight with a friend, which was good as we haven't managed it for months. We live out in the sticks and its brilliant for going on long walks, with plenty of hills to help burn off the fat! Also good to have time to chat for a change :)

DH had tea ready for me when I got back (I'm so spoilt). DS is very excited, we've just booked trains etc to go to London over the school holidays in May to stay with family. I managed to get us tickets and travel cards for less than a full tank of petrol - very MSE as we don't need hotels or anything. I find it difficult to entertain an almost teenager all week so this should break the holiday up nicely.

Spends were pretty low today, just cat food and toothpaste. I think we've got enough food in the kitchen to miss a big shop this week. Not a lot else to report, knocked another few pounds off the debt and managed to talk myself out of getting some more trainers to walk in - I already have a pair that are in good condition and will do for now.

Day off tomorrow, hopefully I'll find time to get some Tshirts out from storage and ironed as its quite warm here and I need something cooler to wear to work. Other than that I want to have a lazy day. Should be able to clear out another bag of rubbish though from the wardrobe when I sort some summer stuff out.

I did de-clutter today, just remembered! My office was so bad at work that I got rid of loads of samples and cardboard boxes (don't ask - I have a really weird job), so I can now actually walk around my desk to my chair without breaking an ankle.

We had manic Pen towers again today and had appointments and running around everywhere. So I haven't managed any de-cluttering and I seem to have a knee high pile of ironing again (I'm sure I must be doing somebody elses as well as ours:eek:).

Not very good on the spending side of things either, I bought a new lipstick and mascara and then I got a coat and some crops for DS. In defence, DS needs the clothes and they were in the sales and not very expensive. But the make up - I could have managed without but as I don't go into town very often I normally run out long before I have time to replace, so I don't feel too bad about it.

Everyone is home now, so its a nice cosy evening in with a big mug of tea to get some paperwork done :)

    Hi Pen,

Hope you are having a nice weekend and enjoying the sunshine :D

Know what you mean re clearing your office, something I need to do in my home office as i'm currently surrounded by what can only be called 'chaos' Perhaps one of my things to add to a to-do-list.

Don't beat yourself up about the purchases, turn it around and perhaps say you've saved yourself some money on petrol costs when you would have had to go into town at a later stage to replace them anyway ;)

Hi Choc-addict, I have had a nice weekend, thanks and hope you have too. :)

I've been a bit stressed with money and family etc so decided to hide for a few days. Feel better about it all tonight though so I'm back to debt-bashing and de-cluttering.

Looks like we might need some major work done on the house :( and I've been going into mass panic on how to pay for it. But if I think clearly about it there are a number of options - even if I need to put groceries etc on my 0%purchase card and then stash the grocery money back for it (and obviously pay the card back before the offer runs out) - I think I can manage without it getting too expensive. But with DH out of work I really wish this hadn't happened. Oh well, we will cope cos we always do.

Busy weekend as always but did get out into the garden and sunshine and that always helps my mood. I finally got round to getting summer tops out of the back of the cupboard, just need to find some sandals I've hidden too. I know I have a couple of pairs just can't quite remember where.

DH cooked me a lovely roast dinner tonight and we are all sat round now watching last nights Dr Who. I did an easy favour for my Dad today, didn't cost me much time or money but he was so chuffed with it, its really made my day. So a good weekend at Pen Towers :)

I did the big shop this week (hopefully for a fortnight) and it came in under £80, even with a lot of meat and toiletries. So I am pleased with that and should only need cat food and milk etc next week. Good job though really as money is rather tight until payday.

More family drama today but my absolute darling hubbie has sorted things out for me, got everything under control and is dealing with it. So all I've had to do is go to work and cook tea.

There not a lot going on with the debt-busting though, only a tiny re-payment today but at least its going down and not up. The car needs an MOT next month and I'd really like to get a service too but I'm worried about spending too much on it just in-case I need to sort out the house problem.

Not a lot else to report, just looking forward to the sunshine we are meant to get over the next couple of days.

Yay to the sunshine Pen :j Make sure you get out there and relax! Sorry to hear about family problems, grrr, glad your lovely OH managed to take control of them for you - bless him.

Fingers crossed for you that house problem isn't too costly - always something isn't there!

Have yourself a good day :)

Nearly a no-spend day, then on the way into town my windscreen wipers disintergrated. So thats £20 gone on the car again.

Money is now very tight until the next pay day. I really need to sort out a proper budget as we've been spending too much again. I thinks its a bit of not cutting back to one wage properly but as usual, we will sort it out. Its just going to take longer to pay off the debt and I'm an impatient person :(

Had a chat with DS and DH to explain that yesterday's shop is the last one for a week or so, so not to go mad on the treats cos when they're gone, they're gone! I'm lucky, they do understand. DH has already planned out what teas he can make from what we've got - unheard of in the old spend free days!

Can't moan, the sun is out and the family happy and well :)
