The strike went quite well actually - I think I got the message across:)

I need to get back to debtbusting properly as I have been bad this month. When real life gets stressful I'm a nightmare for spending. So I'm back to confess all and also do my list for tomorrow.

I spent on wine and cigarettes today (talk about pouring money down the drain :o) but still I will enjoy the wine and am determined to make it last as long as possible.

So for tomorrow I need to:

    - Hoover and clean downstairs DONE
    - Sort out all the washing and ironing DONE
    - Finish my essay and start the next chapter HALF DONE - at least I know what I'm writing about now!
    - Finish my multiple choice paper - DONE AND PASSED 100%
    - Meal plan out of the cupboards and freezer until the shopping turns up on Thursday -DONE
    - Do a proper meal plan for next week - DONE UNTIL THE WEEKEND
    - May be hoover out the car if I am feeling really energetic - WILL DO AT THE WEEKEND

I'm going to be stuck in all day so I should get most of this done.

Off for a nice cuppa now and to chill out in front of the TV :)
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

The car had to go to the garage today for a service/pre MOT. It wasn't as bad as I thought as I'd been ignoring all the rattles and moans for a while, but it still cost £250 :(

So my aim is to try and pull some of this back by getting creative with the rest of my spends this month. I've already got DH, DS's and MIL birthday presents (hid all over the bedroom so I hope I can find them all in time). I've also got a big shop being delivered tomorrow and I think we should be able to eek this out for a good few weeks as the cupboards are full of veg and ingredients. I just need to plan and get motivated with it.

I had a couple of lucky finds around the house today - 4 nice vest tops - must have brought them pre-MSE days and decided they weren't quite right. But they are bang up to date now and will top up the summer wardrobe quite nicely. I can't think why I didn't like them before. More money than sense I think :o

    Tomorrow's to-do list:

    - Finish meal planner for next week
    - Try and finish essay
    - Go walking lunchtime
    - No spends
    - Visit MIL with for her birthday

Our car has it's half service in Aug/Sept! Last years was £250 for it's funn service so at least this year is only a half one.

I like your wording Pen..... 'getting creative with the rest of my spends'..... nice way of putting it, sounds more fun ;)

Bonus on the vest tops - it's amazing what we find hiding away....we're mid de-cluttering before house move and finding all sorts of junk that i've wasted money on....not one for ebay either so it's all going to charity shop this weekend.

Hope you are having a good day x

Car still not fully mended so hopefully its back in the garage tomorrow if I can work it round sorting out DS and family and stuff.

Had another panic about money tonight so moved the budgets about a bit and cleared my club book bill. I should have done it ages ago really. Thats one less person after my money now each month :)

Hoping for a quiet weekend so that I can finish my essay - I think it need to find some motivation though, I never thought a pile of ironing could look so tempting!

I also need to buckle down and do next week's meal plan. We have sooo gone off track recently with groceries and I need to raid that money to pay for the car.

Right, feeling a bit calmer and clearing about things now. Off to see if there's some white chillin in the fridge.

Car sorted and a bit cheaper than expect :j

I've had a nice day today. DH and I went out for lunch which isn't very MSE but was a needed treat. With everything going on recently we've found it hard to have a bit of time out.

Then I had a potter about the charity shops this afternoon and found a couple bargains. One was a Monsoon dress for £7 which is lovely and summery and I can think of loads of uses for it if the weather keeps up.

Not a lot else to report - finished the housework, cleared the ironing and then found another load of washing on DS room's floor! I think I'm going to teach him to iron his own clothes in future
