Pen's phase 2 -the long debt slog and de-clutter

I feel like I'm getting more organised now. I've finished my list for today (yes I'm sitting on my b*tt lazing about now). We've had a really good day here, work was cool, DH and DS had a friend round and went out for lunch and up to see grandparents etc. Then when I got back we filled our old paddling pool (£1.99 blow up variety) and sat in the garden with our feet in the pool, just chatting etc. It was good (and free).
As it was quiet again at work I actually did a budget for this month (honestly I am so bad at ignoring the fact I need to budget). For once in my life I know exactly how much free money I have until I get paid again. It doesn't look too bad (well it does but at least there is a bit of room for juggling). I now know that I can fit in one more big food shop and my petrol and still have a bit for overpayments and life.
So tomorrow's jobs are:
- drop DS in town
- very small shop for cereal, fruit and bread
- clean bathroom and hover downstairs
- raid DS bedroom and do bedding etc before he notices
- take pork from freezer for Sunday
- store cupboard inventory/meal plan for next week
- work clothes wash and iron
DH has really pleased me this week by sorting some training etc he needs to do before he can find some more general work (sorry to be vague but I don't want to spoil anything). I thought he was in denial about it but no, he has sorted out without too much nagging. He is such a love
Thats all really, happy and well in Pen Towers and wishing the sun would stay for the weekend. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Yesterday went as planned, no major spends and I did a massive de-clutter in the kitchen and dining room. It looks quite nice in there now. I didn't get to do the meal plans though and DH has decided he wants to go back to them as he can never guess what I want to eat each night (um... I'm thinking I might be a bit fussy then!).
- Meal plans
- Ironing yesterday's washing & put away
- Fetch DS from town
- Hoover living room & upstairs
- Get at least 2 boxes from the roof, sort and charity / tip
- Cook roast pork dinner
That should be enough to keep me busy and out of the shopsThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Sounds like you had a day similar to mine yesterday! I spend 5 hours delcuttering and sorting the kids rooms. Now every single item down to the last barbie shoe is in it's right box!!! :-) Also got rid of half a binbag of rubbish. Manage to dedicate a whole under bed storage box to just hangbags, backpacks and purses that they have between them!!!!
Now i don't want to let them play or they will mess it together!!!Orange Fairy

Kel, I was going to attempt to sort out DS's room whilst he's out but apart from the bedding and a quick hoover I didn't bother. It will be back to normal tomorrow and he'll only moan he can't find anything.
So far I have had a very productive day although its not gone completely to plan ...
We had water running from the freezer this morning which I've been advised has been happening for a few days but nobody thought to tell me. The door hadn't been shut and now wouldn't cos of the ice. So first thing I had to pull everything out and give it a quick defrost. Not the start I was expecting but the food was ok and I gave it a good clean and de-clutter at the same time.
Then I had to de-clutter 'that cupboard' in the kitchen were everything important gets shoved as I'd lost a repeat prescription. I binned loads of stuff.
I managed to get into the roof and have 2 full bin bags to go to charity (but there is loads more to get rid off). Think its going to be a bit by bit job. Found a lovely picture frame and some candles that I'd forgotten about. They are going to be relocated in the living room.
I've also done downstairs and have put the covers back on the sofa as I washed them yesterday. Just have to hoover upstairs then I think I can fit in an hours study before I have to go and get DS from town.
After that its just the dinner to do and then hopefully a nice family evening in. I found an Avatar DVD in the kitchen cupboard that I'd forgotten we'd bought so hopefully we can watch that.
Have a good Sunday everyoneThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Yesterday turned out to be a bit of a frazzle. We had two different sets of family just turn up at tea time - with their children and with friends. Both had different sets of problems that they wanted help with. So we didn't get to sit down to each lunch until 7pm and I was hanging and starving by then. I think I need a plan of action to stop this happening next Sunday as it becomes an awkward re-occuring situation if we don't nip it in the bud.
Anyway, enough whinging, my list for today is:
- Get cat food and bread ONLY @ lunchtime
- Drop 2 bags at charity shop
- Tackle the ironing pile after tea
- Email course tutorThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Ooops, I missed yesterday - loads going on again as usual. I did a small weekly grocery shop as we'd run out of cleaning bits and the heavy stuff. Apart from that it was a no spends day.
Day off today. I've a meeting in a minute and then I'm free until the school bell! So today I intend to:
- put the washing on the line
- iron the washing from Monday
- clear more stuff from the roof and take it to the tip/charity shop
- fit in some more studying and finish the essay I'm avoiding
That should be enough to keep me busy. The only good thing about DH not working is he's home on a Wednesday to keep me companyThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Need to retreat for a while. Some more sad news and I just don't know what to say.
Will start another diary or something later. We are all ok in Pen Towers.
