Just Googled her and it seems she is a college lecturer. It doesn't appear that her students have a very high opinion of her either - one of them describes her as follows:
Has no intrest in her students. Doesn't even read assingments, just passes everyone for an easy life! Hopeless and arguementative!!

Why would someone in such a position act in such a way?

lol - excellent, she sounds like a complete tool! I would respond to her latest request for your solicitors information by simply pointing out that as she has threatened legal action you no longer consider it prudent to converse with her electronically and therefore all further communication should be on paper sent by tracked means, point her in the direction of mcol and say that you will forward the paperwork to your solicitor when you receive it and then ignore any further nonsense she sends you.

I once googled a person I had really bad issues with, turned out they were a lawyer in new York. I had written proof that they were making a false claim, so I spent a few bob phoning the New York office, asked to speak to the (named) senior partner and asked him where to serve legal papers on one of his junior partners.

Obviously i was extremely careful what i said and did not make any allegations but merely gave the briefiest outline of the problem but the senior partner was very interested in what I had to say and actually did not seem at all surprised. In fact he gave memore info than I gave him and told me not to bother serving any legal papers as he would sort it out, and he did!

Oh yes and i am aware of a colleague who had an issue with an undeclared business seller and dodgy goods. She googled the email address as it was a College one, found out the woman was a member of staff and phoned the HR department and asked about their policy for their staff selling pirated goods on ebay .

There was a news story about libel over negative fb doing the rounds in 2008. Does anyone remember if onsalexuk actually made it to court, or ran out of hot air?

just so you know, if you google that quote you find the woman on rate my teacher, you might want to remove or paraphrase it.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

    Simply walk away.

Don't get into a conversation with the seller, direct all their emails to Ebays dispute department, tell them the seller is harrassing you regarding feedback and they will be very quick to get the seller to back off. They ban accounts for this sort of harrasment every day.

If you're worried about your comment seeming like libel or slander, ask Ebay to change the wording of the comment to "NOT SATISFIED WITH SELLER OR GOODS, REFUND RECIEVED, WONT USE AGAIN" but that you wish the status of the feedback to remain as negative.

Trying to enter into a discussion with people like this is like fanning a fire. 100% positive ratings are valuable on ebay so when someone leaves a negative they try everything they can to get it changed, Ebay won't remove a negative unless it is in breach of its T&C so the only way a negative feedback can be removed is if the buyer agrees to it. Hence the bullying tactics and the threat of legal action.

Everyone and their cousin is a lawyer on the internet, or so it seems from the forums and chat rooms. Simply search for the phrase "im a lawyer" in google and see how many forums show up in the list. It's a common bullying or defence cry on every forum out there. I'm surprised there isnt a "I'm a lawyer" key on everyones keyboard.

So best just to ignore them and walk away.
