Don't think I'd waste my time (or a credit check) with them anymore from reading others experiences - they're a pack of ^$%£""£&s!

Who Barclaycard? How so? They've reduced my APR once already and I've only been with them for five months! Not to mention their excellent online account servicing (which had a slow patch but is now back up to speed).Customer service leaves a bit to be desired but otherwise I quite like them!

Just to clear up a few things:

Until Mid-January the Pre-app checked searched Call Credit and gave sporadic results
It now uses Equifax and asks for more info so gives a much more accurate result

Experian are never searched by Barclaycard in conjunction with an application.

    Just so everyone's clear :o

Thanks for clearing up what I already did. :p

Asda card is Santander I believe, so be prepared to wait a while. And they indeed are rubbish if reports are to be believed.

I've now been accepted for the Barclaycard but they won't tell me what my credit limit is until I receive the card!

I've already had an email from them to set up online account manager and they reckon my card will be here within 10 days. I know they don't have a great reputation as I applied for the Zero card a couple of years ago and they messed up the application. I'm not in any hurry for the card now I've been accepted for the Barclaycard, which is just as well lol

Fairly standard, for Barclaycard. They will increase it after 6 months if you ask nicely though.

It's 0% for 15mths on BT so an increase after 6mths won't be of any use to me. This is the 3rd Platinum Barclaycard I've had in the last 5 years now, so was surprised they gave me another one as the only money they ever make from me are the BT fees lol ;)

Last October when I applied for a Barclaycard after getting an 80-90% on the pre-application checker, did for me search both Equifax and Experian on the same date and both are full credit searches. I got the card. Never say never.

That's very perculiar indeed! I think you're the first ever person to report Barclaycard as searching experian!

It's a damn good job they didn't check my experian when I applied in November otherwise they'd have dug up the six defaults and BR order at a linked address that "fell off" my Equifax file ;)
