Barclaycard pre-application approval

Has anyone been told they can have a Barclaycard having filled in the pre-application approval then been refused when they make a proper application?
I've just been pre-approved for the 15mth 0% BT card :j ... worried they will turn me down if I apply though. Previously had 3 Barclaycards at seperate times, last one was closed almost a year ago.

Being pre-approved can go either way, they can accept you or decline you depending on full credit check or you could be given a card with a higher interest rate. You would have to apply to know, from previous thread here people have had different experiences0 -
Also bear in mind that the pre-application check uses Callcredit whereas the full application will be through Equifax.
Can make a difference if you have contrasting files.

Thanks guys, think I'll wait until the end of the month when, hopefully, Experian should have updated my credit files with recent changes in my favour.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

They dont any more. I did it a few days ago and it came up as a pre-check on Equifax, and they didn't use call-credit at all.0 -

Oh of course, just remembered I've never seen a search on there for them. And Equifax has a much better report as some of my cards and MO don't report to them either! May as well bite the bullet and apply!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Just to clear up a few things:
Until Mid-January the Pre-app checked searched Call Credit and gave sporadic results
It now uses Equifax and asks for more info so gives a much more accurate result
Experian are never searched by Barclaycard in conjunction with an application.
Just so everyone's clearCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Hmmm Barclaycard need more information and will let me know, so that could still go either way. But thought I'd try for Asda Reward card at the same time and it was accepted!!! :j
Not a great credit limit (£1K) and not enough to BT the whole balance of another card, but hey, there's still a chance Barclaycard will accept and that's likely to be a lower limit than I need too, so between them I might be ok
Happy Days are here again as I thought I was going to get lumbered with paying interest for the first time in about 6 years :rotfl:“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Thanks for that mate, didn't realise.
They probably got to thinking that using different data sets for each process just doesn't make sense!

Don't think I'd waste my time (or a credit check) with them anymore from reading others experiences - they're a pack of ^$%£""£&s!0
