sigh, and since you use an untracked service you cant say if it does or doesnt
you really are a waste of keyboard battery0 -

So what you're saying is that I must pay for a service in the full expectation of not receiving that service, and RM is in no way to blame for items going "missing"? They can take my money and my item, and it's my fault. And you're an ex postie? :think:0 -
i never said that at all
using an untracked service then any buyer can claim non receipt
if its untracked then wheres your proof it didnt arrive?
RM is a cheap one size fits all service that gets it right most of the time
you just have a chip on your shoulder and seem to just want everyone to agree with your closed view

It's impractical to use tracked for many small cheap items. It is also impractical to keep making insurance claims. Why will you not accept that RM bear the responsibility of fulfilling their obligation to deliver?
Does it also not occur to you that buyers prefer to actually receive their item, not a refund?0 -

sigh so whats your answer
RM now need to set up globally for you?0 -
Look at it a different way OP. The buyer is completely reliant on you to get the item to them, their only protection is an hoesnt seller and if that fails then a paypal chargeback.
The seller on the other hand has the full protection of whatever insurance, tracking or basic £39 or loss compensation that they choose to use. Therefore the seller can protect themseleves against financial hardship, so the situation where buyer gets a full refund is one i fully and totally support.
Claim or don't claim from the RM it is up to you, but that is nothing at all to do with your buyer.
Yes in an ideal world RM would never lose anything and it is terribly frustrating when they do, it is equally as frustrating to have to trust some European postal services, I for instance have reluctantly blocked italian buyers from my auctions as I have a statistically high instance of items not arriving. That does affect my profits but i have chosen to block those buyers as a protection against loss.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Erm, sorry to interupt, but going back to the OP, if I was in that situation I would go to my sorting office and explain what has happened. They should then be able to contact my regular postman and ask if he remembers anything about a parcel being refused.
I would also ask the seller what address is on the parcel to make sure that they have my correct address.
If the sorting office have no record of any parcels being refused I would open a item not received dispute with ebay.My daughters are my world0 -

Well, I thought being part of the EU was supposed to sort these things, and neway, what happened to the UPU? As a seller I have enough work to do of my own - I cant run the postal service as well. Though I could probably do a better job than Crozier.0 -

how does being part of the EU sort anything?
RM dont go beyond the UK so it makes no difference
the UPU allows your item to be delivered outwith the UK0 -

As he no longer runs RM thats not hard. If your too lazy to claim for your losses off RM thats your own fault. Even if tyhe RM was perfect there would still be losses. You just have to make sure your covered and get on with it0
