Btw, RM do not provide insurance to European destinations - which is where a lot of my items go. So now what? I repeat - why doesnt the RM just do its job?
so you choose to not use a tracked service
if it makes you uncompetitive thats your problem, are you really not seeing this?
now RM have done their job
they send the item to the receiving country and it is delivered by that countries mail service
if you want point to point control then use a courier
heres a quote from the RM siteYes. All Airmail is covered up to a value of 100 First Class stamps in compensation if the letter is lost or damaged and it's our fault. You cannot claim for items of value, unless they are sent by Airsure® or International Signed For™. Consequential Loss - compensation for any financial consequences of any damage or loss to items of mail - is not available. If your item is valuable, you can buy extra compensation of up to £250 or £500, depending on the destination. This additional compensation is only available when you use Airsure® or International Signed For™.
and if thats not enoughHow much compensation will I get if my item is lost or damaged?
If your item is lost or damaged in transit, we will pay compensation of up to the value of 100 First Class stamps per item upon production of a copy of the certificate of posting and proof of item value. Extra compensation of up to £250 or up to £500 (depending on the country) is available for an extra charge of £2.20 per item (in addition to the £3.70 International Signed For™ fee). Please note however that the maximum compensation for cash and money sent via International Signed For™ is £100 when extra compensation has been purchased. Also cash and money cannot be sent at all to a number of countries, so you should check with Royal Mail Customer Services on 08457 740 740 before sending cash and money, etc to check that it is possible to do so. In addition, extra compensation is not available for items containing mobile phones (so that the maximum compensation for the loss or damage to a mobile phone is the value of 100 First Class stamps per package sent.
Please note that Royal Mail will not pay any compensation on items that are prohibited or restricted in the country of destination (see below)You can still use International Signed For™ to send items worth over £500 but we don't offer compensation to cover the value of items over this amount so you should take out additional private insurance to cover the full value of your goods.0 -

So everything is the seller's problem, including non-delivery of items? Sounds fair. I dont want point to point control, I want the RM to deliver my items when I've paid to have them delivered. Obviously too much to ask.
Btw, how did you lose your job?0 -

who said i lost it?
i can see you foaming at the screen but your ineptitude really isnt my fault.
now to your attempt at a point.
where is it the buyers fault, they pay you get the item to them
you have said you items are for Europe,RM dont deliver in Europe
or will you pay the flight for a postie?0 -

Agreed, it's not the buyer's fault. By exactly the same reasoning neither is it mine. It is the fault of the delivery service. If I pay for delivery that's what I and my buyer should get. Or am I being inept again?0 -

Not sellers fault just sellers responsibility. If you don't send tracked you take the risk. I'm afraid no matter what items will get lost. If your having high loses you need to look at your own systems (do you put a return address clearly on) or report it.
Also calm down you'll give yourself a heart attack0 -

Yes they should but this is the real world nothings perfect and items will go missing. If they do make sure you have enough insurance and claim0 -
And that's why you can claim £39 if it doesn't arrive (I really need the bloody rolleyes smiley here, but can't be arsed to dig one up from elsewhere...).worbikeman wrote: »Agreed, it's not the buyer's fault. I've took me pills this morning, I'm alright;)
My responsibility is to package the item and take it to the post office. It is the responsibility of RM to deliver it. If they cant deliver it they shouldnt charge me (and my buyer) for delivery. They are in the wrong, not me.0 -
well with your stance i assume you dont claim from RM, so continue as you were0
