you don't have to add all those veggies
if you don't have them then just cooked ham and leeks with garlic and cream is fine - tho if you do buy a big pepper, courgette etc lasts most of hte week lol
and it is pretty quickTime is the best teacherShame it kills all the students*******************************************************************************************0 -
Pitta bread mmmmmm i've never thought about that before. It's always on the "out of date" rack for about 10p in morrisons whenever i'm there after work0

We don't have a microwave at work, all we have is a kettle
Good idea on the cous cous, i have some packets of that in the cupboard but i always thought of it as something you have on the side of something else, not sure why!If you have plain (does that even exist?) cous cous then I think you can also add your own ingredients if you wanted to, but like I said the Ainsley Harriet ones are absolutely delicious and are only a £1 for two at the moment if you decide to keep taking it in...It's very healthy and good for you, I'm addicted at the moment because it's so quick and so tasty too...that and a bit of salad and I'm full!

Oooh yes please, i love making soup, especially if i know it's cost next to nothing to make, i've got a bag of sweaty carrots in the cupboard that i don't wanna chuck away LOL, they've still got some life in them yet
Although, since we have no microwave i couldn't take it to work which is a bummer, i can only do packet soups.0 -
also you can put in some olive oil and tomato puree and crushed garlic in a pan - heat it all up - add some ham or chopped chicken - then cook up pasta and drain as before - add tom puree and other stuff to it and some chopped chives

I have 2 boxes of "Sammy's" cous cous (roasted veg, and med veg i think), they must have been on offer they've been in my cupboard a while. So could i take it to work dry and ut hot water on while i'm at work? Or does it usually need butter or something?0 -
3 leeks, about 4 large carrots, one swede, 3 or 4 maris piper totties
melt butter in large pan - add chopped leaks and fry in butter until softened
add chopped carrots, chopped swede, chopped potatoes
then add oxo veggie cubes (this is the important bit)
one oxo cube in a mug - add boiling water to top
do this for 8 or 10 dependent on how tasty you want it
add to veggies - add salt and pepper
cook for 2 hours (preferably 3) over low heat
delish
serve with crusty breadTime is the best teacherShame it kills all the students*******************************************************************************************0 -

just looked up some of the flavours there and look great, I don't use butter no, just adds fat etc and it's nice enough on it's own. Might not be to everyones taste but it's worth a try... let us know how you get on!
