Where would you suggest going for proper fitting? Someone else suggested La Senza so might try there. Im wearing a 34C and sure Im a 32D or DD but can never find anything to fit. Would you suggest measuring yourself is worthwhile or just go somewhere and try loads of bras on? Im not working so cant spend very much. (currently buy cheap M&S ones)
Sorry to hijack the thread!!!
I'd recommend Bravissimo - as they are specialists and I've found them very good. I think there are branches in most cities. You don't have to buy anything so can do a fitting and then buy elsewhere if you find their prices are too steep (I generally get M&S). Their clothes are also designed to suit those of us with more curves and are not too expensive - dresses about £60 so same as top end of the high street really.
Re. the original question... I tend to keep a set in most of the colours I wear. Partly just because I like them, partly because colours last a lot longer than white, and partly because I think it looks a lot less obvious if you do have a strap show while moving something. So that would be, um, white, cream, red, pink, teal, navy blue, purple, brown, grey and black.

I usually have to spend around £35 per bra (38F - 40EE depending on manufacturer/style). And I loathe and detest underwired bras (sooo uncomfortable) yet struggle to find anything in my size that is "soft-cup" - any recommendations?
One of my sisters has loads of matching sets - but she also has boobs like asprins on an ironing board! LOL!!
I used to have a sports bra called "Shock Absorber" - thats truely a bra for big girls isn't it?? :rotfl::rotfl:
Sorry but that comment about your sister is just plain nasty0 -
I have got about 18 altogether. Most of them are new because I bought some from Marks and Spencers and then found some I liked in Primark so stocked up. Primark don't do my size either. I am a 32 E but have found I can alter the band of a 34 DD down to make the band size a 32 and the Primark 34 DD fit me quite well in the cup. I wouldn't alter it down anymore than one band size though because I think it would make the strap position too different.
Is anyone else finding that Marks and Spencers straps are short on the recent bras? I am having to put the straps on the longest length possible. I am only 5 ft 2 and not particularly long in the body. My older m and s bras are ok, it is just the new ones.0 -

Oh! Don't apologise - there is absolutely no need to be sorry - it was my sister who described her own boobs that way herself. Guess some of us have a more robust sense of humour :rotfl::rotfl:.

My favourite place for bras is M&S I'm a 34GG so I ain't small and they have a very supportive range in various shapes and sizes and last time I was measured I went away with 1 black and 1 white at £12 each and a sports bra £20 which I can say does actually work!TSB: £4900
Virgin: £4700

I have a rather large bosom and therefore find the very best place for good quality well fitted bras is Rigby & Peller. Therefore, I only have two. One in neutral and one in black.0

me too - three for work during the week can't abide to wear wires to work, but have nicer ones I wear at the weekend if I'm going out anywhere nicer than the supermarket.
I also have a few for when I'm not going out, iykwim - lovely, but not very practical either, can't keep them on for long .:cool:Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Lots of big girls here then.
Forgot what I was going to say now. Distracted.
My OH uses freya, buys them from sellers on ebay, if you get the right time you can get them much cheaper than bravissimo.
I like freya and I am so much happier now they are doing pretty bras for larger girls. I think maybe even happier than my OHFreedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
